General Overview

Welcome to Zanzibar! Furaha Villa (furaha means joy in Kiswahili) and this is what this place means for me. I designed the place myself, my brother and I decided to invest in the motherland some years back and looking to welcome people in my favourite place to disconnect. I am based in Scotland most of the time and return 3 months a year, outside of that, the place is rented out and now I have discovered PLU!

The Space

A gated space - popular for honeymoons, but also families. Private 3-bedroom, (5 beds so can fit up to 10 people) en suite, in central Nungwi, Zanzibar. The villa is part of Bukoba Villas. Enjoy a private pool, spacious living areas, indoor/outdoor chilling spaces. Ideal for a tropical getaway, close to beaches, local markets, and vibrant nightlife. A serene retreat. NO AC - Fans are available in each room POWER CUTS ⚡- There can be powercuts across the area. When these do happen, they tend to last from 1 minute – 30mins. Sometimes these can last longer. The water supply is connected separately so this works as normal, and we have emergency candles that the staff can give you. Unfortunately, as a small villa we do not currently have a generator. I also see it as part of the beauty of the island, to retreat and disconnect momentarily. However, Highland bungalows is equipped with a generator in the event you require immediate access to power or Aman Bungalows (by the seafront)

Getting to my home

Zanzibar airport or Zanzibar ferry ( if you are coming via Dar Es Salaam). Then its about 1h30 car journey to the north of the island.

I walk to most places in the area. However, you can get a Boda Boda (scooter) for short trips- most affordable and effective Taxis are also available but slightly more
