Gouda is a beautiful historic city, famous for its cheese. Our house is 5 minutes by bike from the center with all the historic buildings and the cheese market in the summer. The Reeuwijkse Plassen are a 10-minute bike ride away, a beautiful lake area where you can walk, cycle, swim (in summer), ice skate (in winter if you're lucky) and sail, canoe or windsurf. Gouda is an ideal location to get to know the West of the Netherlands. Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht are all within 50 kilometers and are easily accessible by car and train.

Ties en Nicole

Our family consists of four people. Nicole works as a Dutch language teacher and Ties is a manager in an international company. Our two sons have just finished their studies and no longer live at home, although they visit regularly. The two of us now live in a nice house in a very quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Gouda. Besides our work we like to do sports, especially rowing and cycling. We love to get to know other countries and cultures. We have also lived abroad, in England and Ghana. We are looking for a place for the summer where we can enjoy culture and nature and where our sons can visit if they want. Preferably also a place with water nearby. At other times of the year we like to stay in beautiful cities.
