General overview
2 Bedrooms + Office/1 bathroom in central San Diego
We live in a vibrant central neighborhood called Normal Heights. Our street is quiet with single-family homes, and a 10 minute walk (.5 mile/1 km) to the main street with grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shops, dive bars, and playgrounds are.
The adjacent neighborhoods (Kensington .75 mile walk; North Park is 1-2 miles away). North Park is one of the most happening/trendy neighborhoods in the city. And if you like breweries, it's a must.
2 bedroom + office/1 bathroom
- primary bedroom: king bed, tv, sliding door onto deck/pool area
- second bedroom: full sized bed
- both bedrooms have blackout curtains and air purifier/white noise machine
- bathroom has large walk-in shower (no bathtub)
- kitchen is fully stocked, induction range, full sized refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine, highchair
- a full size washer/dryer is located in the kitchen
- please note there is no microwave. We just use the range ;)
- living room has tv (with appletv), ceiling fan, toys, books, etc.
- we ask that you do not use the fireplace
- dining room seats 6 easily
- backyard has swimming pool, a tv, firepit, playhouse with slide and sandbox, dining table and ample seating.
We have lovingly restored our 1927 bungalow over the past few years. We've tried to maintain its charm by keeping the original hardwood floors, plaster walls, solid wood doors, wood windows, and such, while modernizing it with a new kitchen, solar power, central a/c and heat, and a new pool. As any old home owner knows, there are some quirks (like some of the doors 'stick' a little), so any exchangers must be okay with things like that! :)
This is our primary home, so our personal items such as clothes and toiletries will remain.
Guest access
Our house is on 1 floor, but does require 2 steps to enter it. We also have a large deck in the back, which has 3 steps.
