Our home is bright, cozy and comfortable. We love the layout and the amenities. Our dead-end street is fairly quiet, yet within walking distance of the train station (1hr 10 mins to Grand Central Station in NYC) and shopping area of our quaint town (including coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies, art galleries, etc. We’re also about a 1-1.5 hr drive to most Hudson Valley towns/attractions and 2.5hrs from the Catskills!
The space
The house is approximately 2400 sq ft and sits on a bit less than a 1/4 acre. There’s a driveway big enough for 4-5 cars, a basketball net, huge garage (full of balls, bikes, some home gym equipment, yard tools, etc) and a pretty yard. There’s a large play set as well as two seating areas: one with couches and a fire pit and the other a dining table and chairs.
Guest access
There are 3 floors to the home.
1- The finished basement is a playroom chock full of board games, toys, puzzles and books! There’s also a piano, rebounding (individual) trampoline and rowing machine.
2-This is the main floor, consisting of the living room, dining room, 1 full bathroom (with tub) and a bedroom/office/pantry.
3- This floor has three bedrooms: the large master has a queen sized bed, and the two smaller kids’ bedrooms have one twin bed each.
For the summer months, we have window air conditioners in the living room, dining room and the 3rd floor bedrooms. We also have a few portable floor tower fans.

Neighbourhood
Very friendly neighbors - lots of kids and dogs :).
Nearest airport
Westchester Airport is about 25 mins away. JFK is about 1 hr 15 mins away driving.
Getting around
You can walk to the closest grocery store (Deciccos, 10 mins). It’s slightly longer (maybe 15 mins walking) to other local shops (CVS, coffee shops, pharmacies, restaurants, etc) and the train station. I would still generally recommend a car for the area - in order to visit local sites and explore.

Hi! We’re a family of 4 living in the suburbs of NYC who love to travel! Our girls are in middle school and we mostly travel around their vacation times (Summer break, Winter break, April break). We’re off to Guatemala, Slovenia and Croatia this summer. Some of our favorite past trips have been to Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Mexico, California, and Utah. Stacey & Ken (parents) did more extensive international travel (Australia, Nepal, India, Turkey, Thailand, Laos) pre-kids, and are hoping to explore further afield now that our girls are older :).
