Our home is a wisteria covered Grade 2 listed three-bed cottage, a five minute drive from a beautiful, unspoiled beach. It’s is in an idyllic small village with a traditional pub, small shop, play park, community orchard, and endless walks in the countryside.
You would have access to our kayaks and paddle board for playing on the beautiful Erme estuary/ Mothecombe beach. Or potter over to Noss Mayo and have a drink on The Swann pub quay while the kids float about on the Yealm between The Swann and The Ship pub.
The space
Despite being an old cottage our home is light; the open plan lounge / dining area has 10 feet high ceilings and large windows. It also has a large wood burner and is very cosy in the colder evenings.
The house has plenty of character with a cottage kitchen with flagstone floors and exposed beams in the lounge and attic room. The attic room has a double bed with en suite and lovely views across the village and valley, on the first floor there is another double room and a bathroom, and the kitchen and dining room / lounge are on the ground floor. There is a private patio and parking.
Guest access
3 floors.
Although the cottage has three bedrooms, only the two double rooms will be available as my daughter’s room will remain locked. This is the compromise we have reached to ensure that we can exchange happily as a family!

Neighbourhood
If you have a car you can reach Dartmoor in 20 minutes, an unspoiled and dramatic national park with wild ponies and ancient temperate rainforest.
Our village is within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and you can drive to many other famous beauty spots within half an hour (Salcombe, Hope Cove, Bantham, Thurlestone, Noss Mayo and many more).
Plymouth, 20 minutes away, is a waterfront city with a large shopping centre, the historial waterfront area called the Barbican with plenty of restaurants and bars, the UK’s largest aquarium, art galleries and a museum.
Getting to my home
Driving will give you more options in the area, although you could get a taxi from Plymouth / Ivybridge / Totnes train stations.
Nearest airport
Exeter is one hour away. Bristol has better connections and is 2 hours away. London approximately 4 hours drive, slightly less by train.
Getting around
20 minute drive to Plymouth, a city with plenty of shops. There nearest large supermarket 15 minutes away in Ivybridge, but our small local shop has everything you need (including fresh croissants at the weekend) and is directly opposite our house.
We do not have a good bus service here so it is definitely a good idea to have a car.
