General Overview

What We Offer Relax under the large deck pergola or in the hot tub, listen to the crash of waves, stargaze at night and enjoy a local wine with friends around the fire table. Explore the trails, beaches, conservation areas, EPIC wineries with their great restaurants. The neighborhood is surrounded by wild life, each end of the 1 mile long road, having access to the Holiday Beach Conservation area, with long beaches and trails. This is a quiet getaway where unregistered guests and parties are not permitted.

The Space

Beautiful renovated home with stunning lakefront views. The sunroom and the deck are great spots to relax and enjoy the sounds of the water, watching the boats go by or a beautiful sunset. 2 large bedrooms, 2 full baths and 3 indoor sitting areas. The upstairs sitting area has a sofa bed, and can be used as an office during the day and as a 3rd bedroom at night. The kitchen has just about everything you need for cooking and entertaining. The voice activated Alexa device will allow you to play your favourite music !!!We also have a BBQ with propane. A variety of coffees, teas, breakfast bars, filtered water are offered complimentary. We have 2 kayaks and 4 bicycles on site which could be used to explore the unique habitat of this magnificent land and water intertwine. ( let us know in advance if you are going to use any of them so we can have them ready for you. Bring your own helmet. For kayaks we offer vests and the emergency kit required by law) but you will need an SUV or a truck to bring them to the boat ramp/dock, 400 m away.

Guest Access

The house have 2 floors, with a bedroom and ensuite bathroom on each floor, allowing for a perfect 2 couples ( or one family)sharing the space. The open office space upstairs has a queen sofa bed that would create an extra sleeping area.

Neighbourhood

The historic town of Amherstburg with Fort Malden, many great restaurants, bakeries and grocery shopping is within a 15 min drive. The famous Southern Ontario wine route has about 20 wineries to explore, most of them with their own restaurants. A local brewery and distillery are only minutes away. Explore the Holiday Beach Conservation area, with its long beaches and trails or drive a little to Pointe Pellee Provincial Park, the Souther most tip of Canada. Pellee Island can be access by ferry during the spring- fall months. Niagara Falls are about 3 hours away

Getting to my home

Nearest airport

Windsor airport is 35 min away, Detroit airport ( in USA) is 1 hour away and involves crossing the border between USA and Canada ( via the Ambassador bridge) London, Ontario airport - 2 hours away Toronto airport - 3.5 hours away

Getting Around

Guests will need a car to move around. Grocery shopping stores, butchery, restaurants, cafes and parks of the historic town of Amhersburg are 10 minutes away.

Lumi  

Hi! We are a Canadian couple with children who have left the nest. We love travelling, and enjoy new experiences, foods and cultures. Our Lakeside designer home is on the shores of Lake Erie, in the middle of the wine country of Southern Western Ontario and close to the Detroit border crossing to the U.S.A. This house is used as a short term rental and therefore, I available wiry a few months notice. The Lakeside house is our vacation lake house, located on the same area, only 15 min away from our permanent home. This house is available when we travel away. We are quiet and mindful travellers, who appreciate the hospitality when it's offered and take pride in taking care of the homes we visit, like of our own. We travel as a couple most of the time but sometimes we might have another couple joining us. Lumi is a Physics teacher and Scott is an IT manager. We both can work remotely.
