General Overview

Our home is sunny and overlooks a quiet park. We have lovely hiking trails in the redwoods right out the door. The coastline both in town, in the north, and in the south are stunning and worth exploring. To the north is Half Moon Bay and San Francisco. To the south is Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. Santa Cruz, a popular tourist destination, is actually a collection of smaller towns or areas. We can help you make sense of our local terms like "west side" "Cowells" "Live Oak" "Soquel" and "Capitola Village" so you can make the most of this beautiful area.

The Space

Our home is a one story family house in a neighborhood. We have a "great room" with vaulted ceilings and a combined living room, dining room and kitchen. The main bedroom has a queen bed, a large bathroom and an outside door to the garden and hot tub. One bedroom has a full bed, and the third bedroom is an office with a queen sofa bed. There is a second bathroom.

Guest Access

For accessibility: There are very few steps at our house. The bathroom in the main bedroom has single step ups. There are two steps up to the back deck from the house, and four steps down to the hot tub and park access (these steps have no handrail). Wheel chair access is possible throughout the house.

Neighbourhood

There is a park with a playground with access from the back yard. There is an elementary school nearby, with basketball hoops, and a field. Chaminade Resort is a short, flat walk away and has day passes for the pool, gym, tennis and volleyball courts, as well as a restaurant with a beautiful view.

Getting to my home

Getting to Santa Cruz is best done by renting a car.
