This house was built around 1907, we like to think of her as a "Grand Old Lady' complete with original pressed tin, 10 foot high ceilings.
We are located in an older suburb with lots of trees and well-established gardens, that is approx. 3 mins walk to the Hunter River, a 5 min walk to local shops and a 10mins walk to the High St of the city of Maitland.
Maitland is a city in the Lower Hunter Valley of New South Wales, situated on the Hunter River approximately 166 kms by road north of Sydney, 40 kms north-west of Newcastle, and 30 km east from Pokolbin, in the heart of the world renown wine region of the Hunter Valley.
Maitland, first settled by Europeans around 1818, has a long history that is reflected in the many historic buildings built in the mid 1800's, using local sandstone and cedar.
Newcastle, established as convict settlement in 1804, is a mix of history, art, and the outdoors, where golden sand beaches, a fascinating past and abundant natural beauty collide with cool cafe's, world class restaurants and a thriving arts scene. Top surfing, heritage ocean baths and coastal walks are just some of the other discoveries that awaits in this bustling beachside city.
Port Stephens (70 kms -70 mins by car, to the east) is a seaside getaway surrounded by 26 stunning golden sand beaches, a majestic bay and giant sand dunes. There is plenty on offer here from Sand boarding & Quad bike tours, Sand dune and camel safaris, Fighter World at Williamtown RAAF base, Cycling, and walking tracks to swimming with dolphins and sharks and much, much more.
Gloucester (150 kms - 2.6 hrs by car to the North) is a country town on the edge of Barrington Tops National Park and is a gateway to spectacular wilderness and adventure. From bushwalks through ancient rainforest to kayaking on the Barrington river and scenic camping. you'll also discover local markets, cellar doors (vineyard wine sales & tasting) and gold rush heritage.

Lindsay and Jan have a beautiful home in the fantastic city of Maitland. Very centrally located walking distance to fabulous restaurants, city Centre, museum and other attractions. They were wonderful hosts and their home is beautifully restored in period style and beautifully decorated. Great base to explore the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Port Stephens area. Highly recommend. We had a wonderful stay!
It was a pleasure to have Lindsay and Jan stay in our home. They were great communicators and left our home in wonderful condition, with a lovely thank-you gift of wines and cheese. Although the weather was not typical for San Diego, I think they made the best of it.
Lindsey and Jan were the ultimate guests. We enjoyed hosting them for a hospitality stay at our home and getting to know them during the process. Such lovely people and we hope to see them again one day in Australia!
Lindsay and Jan were lovely and thoughtful guests in our home. We would love to have them back again
A lovely stay was had at Lynn & Pete’s very comfortable and welcoming home. Quiet neighbourhood and a direct run into the city for sightseeing. Plenty of shopping/eating options close by. Loved all your travel memorabilia Lynn & Pete and thanks so much for hosting us.

Thank you Chris & Brenda for the wonderful time spent in your cosy condo in Salt Lake City. We had everything we could want to make our stay enjoyable. Plenty of eating options close by when we wanted a break from cooking. Close to public transport into the city if wanted, but also very quiet at night. Thanks again for the hospitality.
