Magnificent Red Rock Views.
In case you have not heard about Sedona, Arizona, USA Today (May 18, 2003) in their Special Travel Report mentioned Red Rock Country (Sedona, Arizona) as #1 in a list of "The ten most beautiful places in America". They state that "The area's telegenic canyons, wind-shaped buttes and dramatic sandstone towers embody the rugged character of the West -- and the central place that character holds in our national identity. There's a timelessness about these ancient rocks that fires the imagination of all who encounter them." Over 3 million tourists visit enchanting Sedona each year, yet it is a small town of about 10 thousand residents.
Travel+Leisure rates Sedona as one of the top 25 Most Beautiful Cities in the World 2023. They cite their “spectacular red-rock landscape — buttes and canyons with a near-magical rosy glow.”
The Space
Our home is located in uptown Sedona, up on the hill for you to fully enjoy the magnificent Red Rock views. From the house porch, look for Snoopy Dog, the Kettle, Steamboat and the Fin rock formations. Yet, it is near (1/2 mile away) the shopping district; but uphill so you can't hear the noise or see the crowds. Very quiet and serene neighborhood. My father use to say "you can hear solitude in this house" in Sedona.
Besides breathtaking sights, Sedona is famous for its many year-round outdoor activities (hiking over 100 trails and bird-watching); an arts scene; fine dining; western life; some Native American Indian ruins; and a spiritual place with several vortexes and a stupa. Nearby towns (such as, Jerome, Cottonwood, Flagstaff and Prescott) and wineries (12+) are fun to visit on day trips. (Yes, Arizona has some fine, up-and-coming local wines). Moreover, the Grand Canyon and Phoenix are 2 hours away; the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert are 1+ hour away; and Las Vegas and Tucson are 4 hours away. In Summer you can enjoy swimming in Slide Rock State Park (15 minute drive), or in Winter enjoy snow skiing at Snowball (55 minute drive away).
Custom home designed by renowned local architect. It has a "ski lodge" feel with solid wood floors and contemporary fixtures throughout, plus Jacuzzi bathtub in master bedroom. The house is about 2465 square feet in size, with 3 bedrooms (king bed in master, and queen beds in each guestroom), 2.5 bathrooms, fireplace and 2 car garage. Custom landscaping with pine trees, agaves, bearded iris, and herb garden for cooking (mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary and lavender). The yard is laid out like Inca gardens with steps rolling downhill.
