Neighbourhood
Bristol city centre (15 minutes drive or a short bus ride, traffic depending) is fabulous with lovely free museums and exhibitions (e.g. M Shed, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Blaise Museum, The Georgian House Museum), entertainment venues and music, and Banksy art everywhere! We have the weird and wonderful Wake the Tiger multi-sensory experience perfect for a rainy day, and plenty of interesting historical walks, independent shops and markets, great food venues and places to explore.
We live in a quiet residential area on the east side of Bristol. Within a 5-10 minute walk there are supermarkets (Tesco local, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl) and pubs as well as some nice cafes. We love the Thai restaurant Everyday Thai, Fishponds Tap for good ales, Grounded café for coffee and breakfasts and the Star pub for good music, all around 10 minutes’ walk away. We’re close to a swimming pool (Kingswood Leisure Centre) and various softplays, Grimsby Farm and café, and plenty more. There are three children's playgrounds and a pump track about 10 minutes walk away.
We are minutes away from the Bristol-Bath cycle path that goes direct to the city centre or out through the countryside to Bath, past Bitton steam railway.
We're also surrounded by historical sites, from stone circles like Stanton Drew and Avebury, to castles like Berkeley Castle, Blaise or Chepstow. We're just a short hop over the bridge from Wales for daytrips, or you could explore Cheddar Gorge and see the spectacular caves.
Nearest airport
Bristol Airport is around 30 mins drive away. London airports are accessible by car, bus or train from Bristol, Heathrow is closest at 1hour40 mins.
Getting around
Shops are walking distance away. There is a regular and reliable bus service into Bristol centre, and a further bus to the airport. There is street parking outside the house (covered by our security camera) and we have good access to Bath, the ring road and the motorway. We are very close to the excellent Bristol-Bath cycle track.

Our little family loves to travel and explore, looking forward to new adventures! I am a researcher in the development sector and enjoy writing fiction, dancing, ceramics and travel. My daughter is 4 and loves singing, music, dancing, drawing, softplays and fluffy animals.
