General overview

A recently refurbished building located in the heart of the authentic Spanish town of Velez-Malaga. The main bedroom has a comfortable double bed. The second bedroom has a working desk and a sofa bed. It is aimed to be used as an office, but with the option to accommodate one additional guest. The flat has high ceilings, open views and is very airy and bright. A fully equipped kitchen to cater for the ones who wish to do some cooking, baking or laundry. The south facing balcony is a plus!

The space

A 60 m2 top floor flat, south-facing, with high ceilings, that makes the area feel more spacious. It comprises of 2 bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, 1 bathroom, integrated living room and fully equipped kitchen. TV with Wi-fi and Netflix and air conditioner hot/cold. It has a small balcony with open views. Overall it is a lovely space that I use when I am on holidays and to lend it to friends and family when they come to visit.

Neighbourhood

The new mayor of Velez-Malaga has recently renovated many parts of the town and pedestrianised the main centre. The neighbourhood is located within the historical centre, yet, very quiet (apart from the weeks when the famous processions take place!) and walking distance to supermarkets, shops, pharmacies, bars and restaurants. There is a lovely park called "Maria Zambrano" that is perfect to go for some exercise, relax or walk your dog, if you have one.

Getting to my home

If you come by plane, you will have to fly to the airport of Malaga (AGP). You can hire a car to explore the "Costa del Sol" and arrive in Velez-Málaga by car. Alternatively there are taxi ranks just outside the arrivals. The ride to Velez-Malaga takes about 45 minutes.

Getting around

The town of Velez-Malaga is very walkable and is located 4 km inland from the bustling beaches of Torre del Mar. It is the capital of the Axarquia region and is also the name of the municipality. The population is 80.000 inhabitants and there is everything you need in town: Supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, restaurants, shops, etc. Velez-Malaga also has some interesting tourist attractions like the Palace of El Marques de Beniel, Church of Nuestra Senora de la Encarnacion, La Casa Cervantes (home of the famous playwright, Miguel de Cervantes de Saavedra), Iglesia de San Juan Bautista, and even the remnants of an Arab fort. There are buses that run to Torre del Mar and Malaga city. For the ones who choose to hire a car, the area is a central point to explore very touristic places like Nerja, Frigiliana, Canillas de Aceituno and some authentic Spanish villages in the area off the beaten track.
