Healthy-home technology includes filtered air-exchange system (ERV), and gas-free heating, cooling, water heating and cooking systems.

The Space

The open first floor plan includes generous living, kitchen and dining spaces. Living and dining rooms each open to separate gardens. 10' wide x 10' tall sliding glass doors pocket into adjacent walls to create classic Southern California indoor-outdoor living spaces.

Kitchen includes ample counter and storage space,  induction range, large fridge and built-in microwave and dishwasher. 

Upstairs includes en-suite primary bedroom with walk-in closet and large, light-filled bathroom. Second bedroom doubles as home office and includes walk-in closet. Guest bathroom and laundry room are located off of an open stair landing.

Guest Access

The two-story house is located few comfortable steps up from the street. Two steps also separate the first floor living room from the kitchen and dining room. The bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry room are all located on the second floor. The rear garden and outdoor seating area is located directly off of the dining room.

Neighbourhood

We are in a beautiful, quiet residential neighborhood and in the best location in Los Angeles for visiting and tourism! 

The house is also within walking distance of two local shopping areas that include a farmers market, Whole Foods, coffee shops and a variety of wonderful restaurants -- as well as many other shops and services.

Getting to my home

We are a short cab/Uber ride from LAX but also close to two major LA freeways (the 10 and 405).

Nearest airport

LAX is only 7 miles (15 minutes) away.

Getting Around

We are centrally located on the west side of Los Angeles and are only 2.5 miles from Culver City, 3.5 miles from Venice Beach, 3.5 miles from Marina del Rey, 4.5 miles from Westwood Villiage/UCLA, 5 miles from downtown Santa Monica, 11 miles from Hollywood, 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles and 12 miles from Malibu. 

All locations are easily accessible by car and some by bicycle. (We have two great bikes available for use!) The Expo light rail train is close to our home and provides direct access to Downtown Santa Monica and Los Angeles.

Jeri and Bobby Rees are a retired school teacher (Jeri) and un-retired architect (Bobby). Married for 36 years and the parents of two adult sons, they recently designed and built a new house with the intent purpose of using it for home exchange and travelling more often. Between them they speak English, Spanish and French. They love art, movies, music and exploring the natural and built environment.

Life-long residents of Los Angeles, Jeri and Bobby love their city and love to share its treasures (many of them hidden!) with others.
