Neighbourhood

A wonderful base for exploring Melbourne and its surrounds. No car is needed. The apartment is in a very quiet location and just minutes from the heart of bustling Chapel Street and Toorak Road in South Yarra, which is on the south bank of the Yarra River. The Hawksburn train station is a 1 minute walk from the apartment and from there it is only 2 stops to the centre of the City of Melbourne. South Yarra is a fabulous area for shopping, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, parks and gardens. The Prahran Market is a short walk from the apartment as is the Hawksburn Village and the Toorak Village shopping areas. There is a wonderful outdoor 50 metre swimming pool nearby - Prahran Aquatic Centre. Melbourne's Royal Botanical Gardens are a short tram ride away or a longer walk (if you prefer walking). It is also an option to walk along Chapel Street to the Yarra River and then along the river to the City (Melbourne). There is a diverse range of public transport available - trams, trains, buses - that can quickly take you all over Melbourne. Trams along Chapel Street will take you in one direction to St Kilda and St Kilda Beach or in the other direction to Richmond. Trams along Toorak Road will take you to South Bank on the Yarra.
