General overview

Our home is in a quiet area, 5 minutes drive from the beach. We are 30 minutes from both Marbella and Gibraltar and an hour from Malaga airport. There are many beautiful Sandy beaches in the area, lots of water sports and several marinas offering a range of boat trips. There are many restaurants close by, great seafood in the local Chiringuitos, delicious Sushi restaurants in both Estepona and Sotogrande or amazing degustación menus in Marbella. It’s also a great base for exploring further a field with the beautiful cities of Seville and Cadiz within a two hour drive.

The space

We have four spacious bedroom, all with en-suite. One bedroom is a double, two are king and one with an emperor size bed. We have two lounges, one on the main living area and one on the lower level. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook at home. Outside we have a 8m long swimming pool, a trampoline and numerous seating areas. We have many plants and trees in the garden so it is a beautiful place to relax. We have stunning sea views from both the master bedroom upstairs and the main floor where there is a lounge, dining area and kitchen. There is a jacuzzi bath in the master en-suite and a further bath downstairs in addition to the walk in showers in each en-suite. We have central air which provides air conditioning or heat to the whole house and has separate thermostats for each floor.

Guest access

There are three floors in the villa. Both the lower level and main floor can be accessed with a wheel chair as there is a sloped driveway that goes around the back to the lower level.

Notes

There are a couple of areas in the back garden that could pose a danger for a young child. Please ask me for more details if you have toddler aged children. We are currently spending several months in South Africa and hoping to move here next year. We will be keeping our home in Spain and hopefully adding a second property in South Africa at some point. We are renting our house when we don’t have exchange guests staying. We are currently open to exchanges all year excluding July & August. We are mainly looking for exchanges in Africa at the moment and we are also open to accepting globes for around a weeks stay in our home.

Neighbourhood

We live on a quiet urbanisation so everything is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away. At the bottom of the Urbanisation are a few chiringuitos and the beach with a path that takes you all the way to Sabanillas (around 6 kilometres). Along this path you will find several children’s play areas, the port of Duquesa with a range of restaurants and small shop and many different beaches. The path is mainly flat.

Getting to my home

You can arrive at our home by plane or road. We don’t have local trains, although you can arrive by train into Malaga and hire a car or take the bus.

Nearest airport

Our nearest airport is in Gibraltar (30 minutes away). There are limited flights here and they can be affected when there are high winds. Malaga is 1 hour away and has many more flights. It is an easy drive from the airport mostly on the motorway.

Getting around

I would recommend having a car to explore the area. It is possible to hire biles to get around and most areas are flat although the road up to our house is steep in places. The nearest large supermarkets, Lidl and Mercadona are within a 10 minutes drive
