General Overview

Welcome to our home in San Leandro, a peaceful and private retreat tucked along the beautiful San Leandro Creek. Our space blends comfort, nature, and a relaxed California lifestyle. It is perfect for families or anyone looking to unwind while still being close to everything the Bay Area has to offer. The heart of our home is the backyard. It is a lush garden oasis filled with mature trees, Japanese maples, wisteria, ivy, and multiple fountains that create a calm, retreat-like atmosphere. You will find brick pathways, cozy seating areas, and the gentle presence of the creek just beyond. It is an ideal spot for morning coffee, quiet reflection, or casual gatherings. Inside, the home is warm, clean, and thoughtfully lived in. It is designed for real life. Comfortable, functional, and welcoming. We are a family home, so it is well suited for those traveling with kids, with space to relax and reset after a day of exploring. We are conveniently located near San Leandro, with easy access to the East Bay, including Oakland and San Francisco. Whether you are heading out for a day trip or staying in to enjoy the garden, this home offers the best of both worlds. We take pride in our space and love sharing it with others who appreciate a home that feels grounded, peaceful, and cared for.

The Space

Our home is a split-level home with lots of privacy and comfort. That also means a lot of stairs so it's not very handicap accessible unfortunately. We recently remodeled our outdoor casita, outdoor living space and kitchen, dining room area and is very entertainment friendly.

Guest Access

Entrance int o the home is simple with our keypad for the house and the backyard casita.

Notes

We have a 25 lb maltipoo that lives with us. We can make arrangements for him to be kept with a sitter during your stay.

Neighbourhood

On our small block there are a dozen other children between the ages of 4 - 17. Our primary school aged children are right in the middle and are often visiting the nearby school playground with the many other children in the community to play. There is a city public pool nearby and has public play hours during the summers. We also live a short drive away from beautiful redwood parks to picnic, hike or mountain bike through.

Getting to my home

There is a local BART about 5-10 minutes away that can bring you here from the airport or train station. This is a heavily populated area and so getting an uber or lyft is very easy as well as a city bus line that is a block away.

Nearest airport

We are a short 15-20 minute car ride away from Oakland International airport and about 45 minutes from San Francisco International airport.

Getting Around

We live in a very walkable neighborhood. We also have bikes and possibly a car for you to use as needed. Favorite places to eat within walking distance Habibi Birria- https://www.yelp.com/biz/habibis-birria-san-leandro-2 Mediterranean and Mexican. Full menus for both and do both cuisines really well. My favorite is the gyro wraps. Top Hatters - https://tophatterskitchen.com/ - Maybe make a reservation if you want to eat there while you’re in town. If not, their take out menu is fine too. Koolfi Ice Cream - DELICIOUS Indian ice cream. https://koolficreamery.com/ My favorite flavor is Koolfi flavor and the rest of the family likes cookies and cream. Galvan’s - fresh giant sandwiches: https://www.yelp.com/biz/galvans-market-san-leandro-2 They will make whatever you want. Yuri’s Tacos - https://sanleandrotaqueria.com/ John swears by their crispy tacos. He gets a combo on the 5 pack every time. I always order their carne asada burrito.
