General overview
We are right on the water in Gibsons on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The Coast is a scenic 40-minute ferry ride from Vancouver and truly another world. Our home is surrounded by nature and very, very quiet. Guests regularly comment on how well they sleep here.
Gibsons is a delightful small town with wonderful restaurants, craft breweries, artists' studios and easy access to wonderful walks and hikes. We love living here.
Please see our second listing, #18811. That is for a self-contained one-bedroom suite within our house, and it will generally have much better availability than this listing.
If you are interested in either of our listings, please message and let's talk!
The space
Our house is open-concept with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a beautiful large kitchen. Both the master bedroom and the dining room have sliding glass doors that take you onto a large covered deck that looks out over the Pacific Ocean.
We have a home automation system that will let you tailor the lights, music, and temperature to your liking, all from our iPad.
Outside, take the stairs down from the deck to enjoy the expansive, waterfront patio and the six-person hot tub. If you are in the hot tub on a clear night, you just might be treated to one of our spectacular moon rises, as the moon climbs slowly from behind Keats Island to shimmer on the water of the Pacific. It’s really something.
Below the upper deck is a comfortable seating area with a gas fire pit and string lights overhead to light up the evenings. There is also a large outdoor dining table and a complete outdoor kitchen featuring a gas grill, a Kamado Joe grill, a sink and refrigerated drawers.
Guest access
Entrance to the house is by electronic keypad. We will arrange a unique four-digit code for your stay.
Notes
Solos and couples, please also look at our Listing #18811, the Quiet Cove guest suite within our house. Scheduling is generally easier for that listing, and it's very well set up for one or two guests.
We have two cats, Whiskey and Coco Bella. They stay at a good friend's house when we are away, but if you like cats and would enjoy sharing the space with these two charmers, please let us know. They will be delighted to give you regular tours of the cupboard that holds the cat food and treats.
We live in a beautiful temperate rainforest and recommend that you take the opportunity to enjoy it. The nature here is something to behold, and to explore! There are fantastic walks, great hiking trails, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking and more, all very close to the house.
We regularly see eagles, deer, seals and otters and on occasion are lucky to see owls and whales. We would love to hear what creatures you spot during your stay.

Neighbourhood
Our house is very close to the historic village of Gibsons. You can walk to town (a beautiful stroll) in about 15 minutes, and driving will get you there in about two!
Gibsons is a town of 5,000 people with great restaurants, craft breweries and cideries, artists' studios and an amazing marina and waterfront.
Getting to my home
Most people visit us via Vancouver. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND FERRY RESERVATIONS. The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful 40-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. The ferry lands in Langdale, which is a ten minute drive from the town of Gibsons and our house.
The Sunshine Coast Tourism website has lots of helpful information here:

Nearest airport
The closest major airport is YVR in Vancouver. From YVR (and always depending on traffic, of course), you are about an hour from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. From Horseshoe Bay, it is a 40-minute ferry ride and then a ten-minute drive to our house.
Getting around
We recommend having a car so that you're able to enjoy all the Sunshine Coast has to offer. That said, there is a public bus that will bring you conveniently from the ferry terminal to a bus stop very near our house.
From the house you can easily walk to the village for supplies, but options are limited within the "Lower Gibsons" village. The two major grocery stores in town (plus the butcher shop, a health food store, the BC Liquor Store and more) are in "Upper Gibsons", about a five-minute drive away.

The house is open-concept to maximize the water views. This shot shows the dining room looking forward to the sun room.
Your view from the house across the Pacific to Keats Island.
The sun room is one of our favourite places to read and to take in the view.
The kitchen features a two-oven, 48-inch range, two sinks, a wine fridge and an island for preparing (and eating!) meals.
Here is another view of the kitchen, looking forward to the sun room.
We love our coffee counter for morning espresso, or latte, or cappuccino...

The gas fireplace in the living room makes it a favourite sitting area in the cooler months.

Under the deck (which is accessible from the dining room and the master bedroom), you will find an outdoor sitting area with comfortable chairs, a complete outdoor kitchen and dining table, plus string lights and a fire pit.
Cheers to the cozy fire pit.
From the six-person hot tub, you will look out over the water to Keats Island.

It's worth getting up early to see the sunrise!
