General Overview

Hola! We’re an American family living in Spain. We’re waiting for our residence cards to be processed and until that happens it’s not convenient to leave the country. So we thought it could be fun to do house swaps to other parts of Spain. If this sounds appealing to you, and you’re ready to taste traditional Asturian sidra (apple cider), let’s chat!

The Space

We have a beautiful, clean house just on the edge of Oviedo, Asturias in far north of Spain. 3 levels with lots of natural light and gorgeous views of the countryside that get even better at sunrise and sunset. 2 bedrooms, including twin beds (and bed rails, not shown), and a comfy tempurpedic double mattress in the master bedroom. Off-street parking in a quaint country village with kind neighbors. Kid friendly with LOTS of toys, an art room, and outdoor playing space! 😉 We have no pets. Peaceful but not isolated and in 10 minutes you can drive to the center of Oviedo. There’s a bus stop 100 meters from the house that will take you downtown in 15 minutes. Or enjoy a pleasant 45 minute walk down the hill to the Christmas markets. Great hiking is all around us and we’re at the start of the Camino Primitivo. Oviedo is a small, walkable city, that has all the amenities you’d expect in a provincial capital. The coastal sister city of Gijon is 40 minutes away and has lots more to see and do. Stunning coastline cliffs and fishing villages await (without the hordes of summer tourists). Oviedo is easily accessed by road, train, or air (OVD airport is 40 minutes away with hourly buses).
