Neighbourhood
Residential area, quiet. The house does not directly face the street. It is in the rear lot and overlooks a public wood where only a few walkers pass. There is a wall (not overlooked) at the back of the house, with a door that provides access to the wood.
Getting to my home
From our house, you can commute to Paris by suburb train (RER, B line). The closest train station is the last stop on the RER B line (South of Paris). This line is direct to CDG airport (North of the line), and to Orly airport. The station is 3 km away from our house. There are buses, but having a car is recommended to drive around the area, to go to Versailles and to the many sites within a one-hour drive. To go into Paris, you can leave the car at the station and take the train.
You can also easily drive to Versailles and leave the car in one of the car parks to visit the palace (20 minutes by car).
Nearest airport
Nearest airport is ORLY (30 minutes by car, or 45 minutes by train).
CDG airport (Roissy) is about one hour by car (depending on traffic) and 1h30 minutes by train (direct line).
Getting Around
There is a small shopping center accessible in 5 minutes on foot (bakery, pharmacy, small grocery store, newsagent and 1 Chinese restaurant). There are two bus lines leading to Versailles (12 km), the nearest RER station (Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, 3 km), a large shopping center, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (8km). From Versailles, or the RER station, Paris is accessible by direct train (15 minutes from Versailles, 40 minutes from Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse). However, we recommend having a car to be able to move more easily in the region.

Brigitte
We are a couple in our sixties. We are both retired from teaching. Alain (72) taught physics in high school and Brigitte (65) taught English at university. We are used to exchanges (for almost 30 years on another platform) and we love this way of traveling.
We like both reciprocal and simultaneous exchanges when possible and non-simultaneous and non-reciprocal exchanges. We treat our guests with great care and respect and do everything to make them feel comfortable with us. We are also very respectful of the houses that are lent to us. We attach great importance to cleanliness!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
