A very pleasant stay in this beautiful area. We enjoyed exploring and walking . The apartment is close to the beach and we enjoyed the views from the balcony over a morning coffee. Our family of 4 had a wonderful week at Maria’s Beach apartment! Communication with Maria was friendly and prompt . We did not get a chance to meet her however, she was always helpful in providing detailed information for our visit . The apartment is impeccably clean and had everything we needed to make it a great trip to the beach, including beach towels and sunscreen.! the view from the living room and patio were spectacular. We spent the week enjoying the local beach just a stroll away and visiting many of the small charming towns in the Basque region. A highlight for our kids was taking surf lessons in Mundaka just 10 min away and renting e bikes in Bermeo . We rode the bikes from Bermeo to Gatzelugatxe. The views were incredible ! We would happily return to the Basque country. The people are so friendly , the food is incredible & the beaches are stunning ! Thank you, Maria for welcoming us into your home and we hope one day to welcome you to ours💓

We had a wonderful week exploring Busturia and surrounding villages. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t so wonderful but we donned our raincoats and armed with umbrellas we went exploring every day. Their home is an easy 10 minute walk to the train station to visit villages and train to Bilbao about an hour way on the train - we managed a day trip and visited the Guggenheim gallery which was amazing as well as exploring the old town. Marian and Gonzolo’s home is a couple of minutes walk to the beach and has a great little cafe/bar close by. It’s had a lovely balcony which to relax and enjoy the views of the beach. Their home is just lovely and has all the comforts of home and is well equipped. They were amazing hosts and picked us up from the train station and then dropped us to the bus station at the end of our stay. As the 01 May was a public holiday they arranged food for our dinner for our first night. We are very grateful to Marian and Gonzalo for a wonderful exchange and for looking after us. Hope we can exchange again in the future.

Marian & Gonzalo were great hosts, the communication was easy, prompt, and friendly. The apartment was just steps from the San Antonio beach and parking was easy. The apartment was completely as described in the profile and comfortable. We enjoyed most meals on the balcony overlooking the beach. The Urdaibai Biosphere is an amazing area to visit. Plenty of trails into the hills for walking/hiking and an easy drive into Gernica or Bilbao to visit museums and enjoy Basque pintxos. Highly recommend.

Stay in the center of Basque nature very relaxing. The apartment is very well equipped and well functional for a family of 4. The view of the beach from the living room is just splendid! Very quiet beach area but with just the right amount of entertainment. The beach is very pleasant to walk around at any time and all tides. Easy hike to reach Mundaka and Bermeo, 2 beautiful villages and then return by train whose station is 10min from the apartment. Bilbao is also very convenient by train (1 hour). The region offers varied and splendid landscapes, beaches all more beautiful than the others! Communication with Maria was from the beginning very easy and caring, Maria is very warm, accommodating, very responsive and good advice. Thank you for this beautiful exchange which allowed us to discover this beautiful region.

We stayed for two weeks in Maria’s cute apartment. It’s a great spot from which to explore the Basque Country. If you want a relaxing beachside holiday this apartment is 100 m from the water. There’s a cute cafe nearby that serves good coffee and pintxos. You can walk to the train station and get to the larger town nearby for groceries. You don’t really need a car if you want to stay local. We drove to San Sebastián and stayed 3 nights there. The apartment has laundry and cooking facilities, so it’s easy to prepare meals there.

The communication was excellent leading up to my arrival and the homebook with pictures really helped to figure out last uncertainties. We had a non sim but almost sim, so Gonzalo and Maria were so nice in inviting me to a local lunch spot to try local specialties. The apartment is very well equipped and very close to the beach which has no waves and slow sandy slopes so really nice. There is a beach bar right by the beach and an ice cream bar that also sells bread in the morning. There are many things to visit and discover in the area so I will need to go back ;)

We had a very enjoyable stay in Marian and Gonzalo's lovely apartment. It was our first visit to the Basque Country and everything about the area was amazing. The people, the scenery, the food the beaches were all amazing. We look forward to returning and exploring more of the lovely villages and small towns.

We really enjoyed staying at Maria and Gonzalo's from the moment we landed. They graciously picked us up at the airport even. We were also honoured to have a tour of the region. Thank you. The home is wonderful. A peaceful, relaxing town with a magnificent beach. We enjoyed train rides to nearby towns. The trains were affordable, super clean, and a great way to explore. We had a wonderful stay at Marian and Gonzalo's home. It is very well set up with everything required and so close to the beautiful beach. Getting there by car was not difficult and the train station is also within walking distance. We were happy to park up our car and use the train to move around while there. It was so relaxing. The area is very beautiful and the Marian and Gonzalo ensured the exchange was extremely well organised even though they were not there. The perfect end to our European trip.

A very nice apartment 50 meters from the beach by the beautiful bay. Everything you need is available in the apartment. It is a spacious apartment and very comfortable. The beds are also fine. It also stays a bit cooler in the apartment because of the shutters. Despite being somewhat remote, you can explore the area just fine by car or public transport. Half an hour to Bilbao by car, an hour by train. San Sebastian an hour away but you can also enjoy from the balcony with this view. We highly recommend this location if you look for a good time in the Bask country.

Our stay in Urdaibai exceeded all our (already high) expectations. The location is spectacular: a unique setting within a natural reserve, 30 seconds from the beach and a welcoming txiringuito. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, with everything you need, as described. Public transportation is great, close by, and very efficient. It takes you to Mundaka, Bermeo, or Gernika in less than 15 min. This is our second exchange with Marián and Gonzalo, following our stay in their house in Gatika. These outstanding hosts made sure our stay would be perfect again. Meeting them was the best part of our, already incredible, trip. We hope to see them again very soon.
