View from our front room of iconic 3 sisters
My husband enjoying the views off upper deck of master bedroom
Mountain evenings can be chilly. But with a covered deck, gas FP, electric heat above and a Pit Boss bbq you will be set to enjoy games or meals!
Grandkids enjoying relaxing on our master bed, with deck doors, fresh air and views galore!
Also our Master! I’ll leave you some local Rocky Mountain Soap bubble bath and some essential oil for the Steam shower behind the wall of the tub.
We love our family, but our master is our retreat. Our own deck, a small office connected(but separate), our own deck, coffee maker, wine glasses, bath, steam shower and lock on the door.
This is a cozy coffee get away, steps from back door and a seperate at home office, with “Lego land” above…it ends up being a favorite get away for all ages. (Think, grown-up and/or kid fort)
Front room. Lean in for coffee and breakfast conversation looking over kitchen, or face out to views of Three Sisters. Window seat is perfect for sunny snooze and a good book. A door in left leads to front deck for coffee or wine outside.
Alberta skies are like new artwork every day. If you walk out and turn left out the front door you’ll find yourself at Alpine myriad of trails in less than 10 minutes on foot. (Or Valbella Swiss Deli, Sheepdog Brewery, Wildlife Distillery)
Bedrooms 2&3 also have their own deck! Both are Murphy beds so can easily be yoga or play areas when beds not in use. Plenty of room to unpack suitcases…look for photo that also has fun quirky closet bed bunks in closet. Kids love it!
Front deck! Efficient with 4 stools and cafe counter. Two easy chairs, chinned for little fires, and porch swing. Again, the real highlight is 3 Sisters mountain view.
Again, the real star of our humble home…Three Sisters mountains
Yeah for coffee lovers! Your own coffee space and seating nooks.
Open kitchen with farm sink, counter seating and easy accessible expandable dining table. My favourite though…slide out pantry next to fridge and concrete countertops husband crafted.
Open concept on main with access to front and back decks, and separate office. 1/2 bath on main as well.
Just a cozy family room with TV above.
Here’s the quirky bunks with curtain for a little privacy for anyone using queen Murphy bed.
Separate working office with secret “Lego Land” fort access when kids need to escape, or you need them to escape. I suggest they be at least 6 to use ladder and gate safely…or climb up with them.
So much to see...but so hard to leave the front deck!
A small home, with so many small nooks!
My favorite? The slide out pantry on the side of the fridge. Find the staples you need quickly!
Plenty of prep space on Ron's hand crafted concrete counters, they remind me of a river bed.
Everyone can stay connected from front deck to back deck, but still find a place of their own. Look further and see if you can find Lego Land our separate home office.
No maintenance back yard with seating everywhere, views, fireplaces (gas on deck, wood near fence line), Pit Boss BQ and upper deck big enough to corral the kids play.
Coffee and book spot, Pit Boss BQ and even little side yard view frames part of the Three Sisters.
Backyard view and parking off alley. Note separate build for lower office and upstairs "fort" affectionally called Lego Land...when mom and dad need a break.
Murphy beds in the 2nd and 3rd rooms. I use one for morning yoga, Ron uses one for TRX. Kids can play in or out. Lots of room to unpack. This room also has the quirky closet bunk beds.
Upstairs European style washer/dryer. Takes longer. But boy is it convenient. Full bathroom and tub for use of bedrooms 1 and 2 next to it.
You'll find many sliding and pocket doors upstairs, that keep everyone from crashing into each other on busy mornings when you're getting ready to adventure.
Coffee in the morning, wine in the evening. Repeat...
Double taps, and pocket door to the "throne" and a steam shower! If you booked it, make sure the master is your haven!
Third bedroom Murphy bed unit. Second room is Queen size, this one if Full size. Deck off sliding doors. (Watch for Northern Lights and Starry skies off this one)
The bathtub, Rocky Mountain Soap bubble bath, and a movie...yes, you really should. Lock the door!
From here on, it's the separate downstairs suite. We don't usually travel in the summer. But if you don't mind something more humble, you are welcome to ask for summer time suite use!
Dates don't match? Ask about our basement suite. We're quiet upstairs!
Pretty good basement suite kitchen layout, look for stool seating for 4 in other pics. Full bath with tub.
Basement suite, it works for quick meals and coffee.
You'd be surprised how many kids (and adults) get a kick out of sleeping Hobbit hole size. Not quite full size and foam mattress can also go below if needed. Basement suite nook.
Couple of cozy chair and 1/2 with games and books provided. Not quite the same views from basement suite, but there is a peek at them and it's quite bright.
Basement suite access from side door. Welcome!
separate laundry in basement suite.
From now on, you are out adventuring in the Canadian Rockies! Downhill at Sunshine, Lake Louise, Norquay or Nakiska anyone? 1/2 hour to 45 minutes away for each and the views are sensational. You will cross the BC/Alberta border on a Sunshine lift and see Mount Assiniboine.
You don't have to get in the car to have beauty. Canmore has many walking, hiking trails, bike friendly, and free Roam bus service. Just wander! You'll find nature jewels, eateries, breweries and coffee shops everywhere.
You've all heard of Banff National Park, and Lake Louise, but Kananaskis Provincial Park is where you'll get closer to nature and further from crowds! Check out hikes, lakes, High Rockies Mountain Bike Trail and wildlife!!
Agnes Lake Tea House Trail in the snow. Lake Louise area.
Canmore has the 1988 Olympic Nordic Center, but this is on Lake Louise. Shark Mountain and many other area are great too.
Tent Ridge Kananaskis...can you believe it?
Another view of Tent Ridge.
Yes! You can use our studded fat bikes for winter rides! Canmore is incredibly Bike Friendly. You'll have no shortage of trails. This is in town on the Engine Bridge overlooking Bow River.
Ice Sculptures and Ice Skating at Lake Louise.
Sometimes, between snows the ice is thick at several lakes for skating. At Gap Lake near by the train even passes. So Canadian iconic (check ice reports first though!!!)
Engine Bridge off the Bow River Trail in Town. Bike lanes everywhere and fall is beautiful!
Alpine Club trails are literally 2 blocks from our front deck...turn left, walk past ball fields and cross the street!
Try to time it to get a Le'Chocolatier treat, a Summit Coffee, or pick up dinner from Valbella's, beer at Sheepdog Brewery, Cocktails at Wildlife.
It will be a full day without leaving he neighborhood.
Just down the road at Dead Man's Flats campground. Upper Kananaskis Lake, and Spray Lake are pretty too. Don't fall in, Canada waters are chilly! And yes, if we aren't in Maui, paddleboards can be borrowed.
Jurra Creek. Short, close and fabulous!
Always look for local events! Ice Sculptures, Snow Days, Spirit of Christmas lights, markets, the list is endless.
Local sledding at Quarry Lake, Nordic Center, Cemetery hill. Easy fun.
Lady MacDonald Hike, not far from our back door.
Elk Bugling season in fall is one of our favorite times of year. Right on Bow River trail. Elk herds are frequently sighted in town.
Canoe available.
Mount Norquay is the smallest area, closest to Banff and a beauty view of the town.
Smaller skating surface at Nordic Center. X-country skiing, fat bike trails, sledding, and frisbee golf mean something for everyone. And Lodge for fire, book, lunch and treats. All in Canmore.
Skating on Lake Louise.
Believe it or not, we rented e-bikes and rode up to Moraine Lake. Legacy Trail to Banff and the Bow Valley Parkway are also popular rides that are longer and stunning.
Shark Mountain Kananaskis. Reserve tea time at Mount Engadine Lodge!
Zippy bridge to underpass downtown and bike trails galore. If you can tame the beast, you can do everything on this bike...getting old though!
Notice mitts for hand warming...what a work out!
Just a walk downtown Canmore with Elk crossing river.
Snow Shoeing Goat Creek Trail Kananaskis. Yes, you can borrow!
