General overview
We live in the regional city of Albury on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. The amazing Murray River is the border of these 2 states (in our vicinity, but the Murray is thousands of kms long)
We are surrounded by National Parks and Reserves within 30-90 mins drive. The heritage Hume and Hovell track runs around and through our city. Hills, forests, walking tracks, lakes and river entry is accessible and perfect for kayaking, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, cycling. The snow fields of Mt Buffalo/Dinner Plain and Falls Creek (including cross country skiing) are about a 2 hour drive. These spots are also renown for world class road cycling events.
For those of you who enjoy wine and craft beer there are many outstanding wineries and craft breweries within Albury itself or within 45 mins drive. All Saints Winery Rutherglen, Cofield Wines, Posh Plonk Chiltern, Brown Brothers Milawa, Bridge Road Brewery, Beechworth Bright Brewery 45-75 mins drive.
Albury is a major sporting centre and hold national and international sporting competitions. We have a lush choice of restaurants offering a variety of cuisine.
If you haven't had the opportunity to visit a Regional City, maybe you would like to come and see what it is all about.
The space
Our home half a century old :-0 Is cosy and comfortable with 3 bedrooms, one is used as a home office for my husband, 1 bathroom, the master bedroom has an ensuite. Both bathrooms have been renovated. Large new kitchen with a beautiful view over the hills facing west. The lounge/living space is double brick, stramit ceiling (an insulating feature suiting the age of the house) and exposed beams, this area faces west and has a 7x5m verandah/decking with bbq.
Amazing sunsets can be seen from the verandah.
Warm in Winter and cool in Summer, due to ducted heating and air conditioning.
From the verandah/decking take the stairs to the garden and outside space which has a fire-pit ready to go on any night that is a wee bit chilly. A few veges and citrus fruit maybe found in the garden depending on the time of year. Collect the eggs from our chickens when they are laying.
We are situated on the downside of a hill, which allows us street level entrance (facing East) to the house with the West facing side being double storey with the garden, there is an enclosed downstairs area which is purely storage and not for guest use.
We do have a couple of furry and feathered friends. Bindi is our 13 year old miniature Maltese/Shiatsu, Toke is a beautiful long haired 13 year old cat. Both are inside/outdoor pets. In the garden and coop you will find 3 heritage chickens. All furry feathered friends would require feeding when you stay.
Guest access
Front of house street level. Inside there are 3 steps from the hallway/bedrooms down to the living/kitchen spaces.
Back of house is double storey (no internal access) with 12 stairs down to the garden and outside area.
Notes
Remember we do have Bindi the miniature dog, Toke the cat and 3 chickens that will need feeding during your stay.
Watering the garden would be appreciated.
