Huge live/work art filled loft space in Red Hook, Brooklyn New York. We have a large beautiful loft space on the ground floor in an industrial building, one of the last of its kind in New York. Located on the waterfront in Brooklyn, near the neighborhoods of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, and downtown Brooklyn.
We can make the loft available for one week stays.
The space
The loft is impressive, quiet, and warm, with 14 foot ceilings. The upstairs main bedroom has a queen size bed; the 2nd room has a full bed, also in the upstairs loft area. The third room is located on the ground floor with twin bunk beds. There is a living room with 2 sofas and dining table that sits 8. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, and one bathroom with shower only.
Guest access
You will have access to an outdoor courtyard with a nice area to eat and sit. There is a beautiful park - Coffey Park - in front of our building.
Notes
If we agree to an exchange, I will send a list of details regarding the loft and staying here. Upon request, I can send a list of Airbnb reviews since we were many years as a Superhost.
We ask for a cleaning fee of $120 for your stay as the space is large and we have a lot of experience prepping the loft for guests. Also lofts in old buildings tend to need extra care for cleaning!
We have a cat Sunshine, who may or may not be in the loft depending on your thoughts. If you are allergic to cats, this might not be a good fit.

Neighbourhood
RED HOOK, BROOKLYN
https://www.likealocaltours.com/blog/explore-red-hook-brooklyn/
The location of our loft is in Red Hook, Brooklyn (you can google Coffey Park, Brooklyn for a precise placement, which is just in front of our building) so we are off the beaten path, so to speak and a little bit farther from the subway (a typical walk to subway can be 10-15min). We are 17min by foot to the subway (F train at Smith/9th St). There is a bus stop within a 7 min walk, (they are slower, but take you to the central subway station in downtown Brooklyn) and there is a fantastic ferry, a 7 min walk, to the stop that takes you to Wall St NYC. (google "nyc ferry" to find the schedule)
Red Hook is very close to Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, and Brooklyn Heights. We are walking distance to the all these neighborhoods as well as to the Brooklyn Bridge. In the evenings, if you are returning late to the neighborhood, I would suggest comparing public transport costs vs. a car service from the city (maybe $20-30 depending on your location). For the airports, we are easily reachable from JFK or Newark - but I recommend flying into JFK ($70 taxi ride from JFK as oppose to $100 from Newark)
This neighborhood is full of authentic, old school New York energy mainly because it is not next to a main subway line. Artists, makers, and creators choose Red Hook for it's larger spaces and proximity to the waterfront. The light is especially unique in the afternoon to evening, and it has a feel of an old fishing village. We are close to Manhattan and other gentrified neighborhoods without the crowds and clastrophobic feeling of a big city. Alongside Coffey Park, other sites to visit is Valentino Pier (there is a small sandy beach), Pioneer Works (an art space), walking up and down Van Brunt Street, the waterfront cafe behind Food Bazaar (grocery store with outdoor cafe/restaurant on the water), watching the boats at Liberty Warehouse (at Strong Rope Brewery).

Getting to my home
We are reachable by car, subway, ferry boat. I can send you instructions depending on your itinerary.
Nearest airport
LaGuardia (35min away), JFK (45min - 1 hr), and Newark (1 hr) are the accessible airports.
Getting around
This is the MOST important issue regarding your stay: Red Hook is a bit off the beaten bath. We are 17 min from the closest subway (F train at "Smith-9th St" or "Carroll St"), so it's not super close. The walk to the F train is through an industrial neighborhood. There is the NYC ferry stop to Lower Manhattan nearby - a 7 min walk from the loft. We love taking the ferry during the warmer months.
