Large family home 30 min from Manhattan; a beautiful renovated Victorian home with 6 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, large living area, large play area downstairs, and great backyard. 10 min walk to village and train station. We love our home and our area. Its the perfect balance for us between the space, the greenery, the parks and the reservation at our doorstep, whilst still being in mid-town Manhattan in well within the hour (30-40 min train or driving time). Our house is great for families.

The Space

Oversized spaces: porch with lounge set, foyer, lounge, dining room and large kitchen, as well as great backyard with playset for kids. One level down is large play area. Upstairs two levels with bed and bathrooms. Three rooms with double beds and two rooms with kids beds. Additional single bed sofa in study.

Guest Access

Full house as needed. We generally close off the study but could take extra bed out as needed.

Notes

No plants, pets or major maintenance. Only in winter snow shuffling (in case of). We are open to car swop as well in case we swop outside driving distance.

Neighbourhood

10 min walk to train station with 30 min train to Manhattan. Zoo en nature reserves within 15 min drive. South Orange and Maplewood towns both walking distance with restaurants, shops and everything you need. Also public pools and playground within 5 to 10 min walk

Getting to my home

Newark airport is only 15 minutes by taxi/uber/car, and direct trains to/from Boston, Philly and DC run from Newark Penn station which is also about 15 min by Uber. Ubers are generally always available in our area. Car rental places are plenty, especially at Newark airport. If you fly to JFK or LGA, you are in for a slight longer commute, count about 40-70 minutes in a taxi/uber, or over an hour on public transport. From New York Penn station there are regular trains that take 30-40 min depending on whether you have a direct or stop train. Train station to our house is an easy walk (half a mile). 
If you come driving from anywhere on East Coast, our town is easily accessible
