Neighbourhood

Small “village” like suburb of Budapest but nearby are large grocery stores and parks, public transportation and everything needed to enjoy a rest or get to the city for some tourism. A car would be helpful for groceries and just convenience as it's more of a suburb feel here. But there are busses and a train and it's possible to be here without a car. I have a document with things to do in Budapest and around the area that I am happy to share with guests.

Getting Around

You can rent a car from the Budapest airport or you can take the bus from our area into the city. It takes about 30 minutes or so to ride the bus to the metro in the city. There is also a train that comes every 30 minutes that goes directly to downtown in 25 minutes. The train stop is about a 10-15 minute walk from our house. Or you can drive there in 4 minutes and park your car and take the train from there. Lots of options!

Kelly

We are a family of 5 (2 girls in college in the US and one in high school) living in the suburbs of Budapest Hungary where we have called home the last 9 years. We are Americans and have loved living internationally, experiencing other cultures and getting to travel in Europe. Before living in Hungary we lived in North Carolina for 9 years. Other places we have called "home" has been in Russia, Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
