Hospitality Description: We have a mini golden doodle in our family, Sophie. She will not always need your care as mentioned in the availability calendar.
She is a 14 year old cuddly ball of love. She merely wants gentle play time, loves kids as long as they are very kind and gentle. Often times, we are looking for exchanges with this Edmonds home with guests that would also take care of her. She doesn’t like to ride in cars or be left overnight. Please ask about our Sophie and be mindful that she may or may not be with you. She will however love you unconditionally and we will not promise that there won’t be heart break when you have to say goodbye to her when you depart our home-she is the best dog ever! Oh…and she is an only pet and prefers it that way, sorry that she wants your full attention-with no other pets. If she is not at the house, we welcome other hypoallergenic, non-shedding dogs to stay also.

Neighbourhood
We have about 27 kids under the age of 12 in our immediate neighborhood. While you wouldn’t know it because it is still quiet, this is a very friendly neighborhood where everyone knows everyone! They will definitely greet you if you see them outside and they will know you are visiting as we look after each other a lot.
Our house is a 10 minute walk to the grocery stores (both general grocery store and a local organic store called PCC), 20min walk into downtown Edmonds with very cute local shops and amazing restaurants and a 25 minute walk to the beach/ferry (to Kingston which sends you off to Poulsbo (“Little Norway) and the Olympic National Park).
You can also walk to the Sounder train that runs about twice a day (check schedules as it changes depending on sporting events in Seattle). The Sounder train is about a 20 minute scenic walk toward the water!
Nearest airport
SeaTac airport is the closest airport (about 40min away).
Bellingham airport is an hour away
Vancouver airport is 2.5-3 hours away
Portland airport is 3.5 hours away
Getting Around
You don’t need a car when in Edmonds as it is super walkable, but you do need transport from the airport (about $100 each way via Uber, Lyft, Taxi). You could also light rail from the airport to the Mountlake Terrace stop and catch an Uber (about $15).
Car is recommended, but not required.
Uber (rideshare) can get you to the Light rail and take you to many places like the University of Washington, Downtown Seattle, Bellevue (just opened), airport etc. (this is different than the Sounder train).
Many options without a car.

People Like Us Local Guide
I am happy to show you around Edmonds and the surrounding area. I love meeting people from around the world and hope to even host you for a meal!
Just returned from Ghazal and Dan’s beautiful home including their adorable easy to care for, dog Sophie. So conveniently located within walking distance to town, shopping, restaurants and the Ferry. The weather here in July was so nice, cool and refreshing. Ghazal was so easy to chat with, and flexible with our exchange. Can highly recommend!!
This was our second visit to Ghazal's lovely home. Everything was top notch! Sophie recognized us and came running! Close to the ferry terminal and a quaint city center. (and only 5 minutes from Costco)
I'd recomend their home to everyone.
We stayed 2.5 weeks at Ghazals place in Edmonds looking after their lovely dog Sophie. The house is very comfortable and has everything you can possibly think of and more. Edmonds is a great little city with nice shops and restaurants. So much to explore in the surroundings also.
Ghazal is the best. Very easy to communicate with and even though she's was enjoying her family holiday in Europe we were in touch frequently.
We can really recommend staying in Edmonds and we're very much looking forward to seeing the family in Europe next year.
Monique-it was a pleasure to have you and Jan at our home. Sophie absolutely loved you guys and I am thrilled to have been able to meet you while you are still here (at our lake house). We can’t wait to see you again next summer in Hague!
Our time at Ghazals home in Edmonds was nothing short of amazing. Her home is beautiful and inviting, and her neighbors are very welcoming! We had the pleasure of taking care of her sweet dog Sophie and my kids still say that they miss her! If you get a chance to swap with this family, you will have a great experience. Thank you Ghazal for the memories!
Oh Cassie-it was our pleasure to have you. Thank you for taking care of our home and our love, Sophie! We miss her terribly and you made it so much easier on us to know she was so well loved. May our paths cross again!
Ghazals home was a perfect spot for our extended trip to Seattle. 15-20 min north or Seattle and a couple miles from the Kingston/Edmonds ferry. The beach was a favorite spot for us- just two miles from the house, and just a beautiful place to hang with kiddos and watch the ferries come and go. Everything you need is within a mile or two- grocery, restaurants and the cutest little down down. (The Farmers Market on Saturdays in summer is a must!!)
The house itself is new, clean and spacious. We all felt right at home and we consider ourselves lucky and very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here for our trip.
Thanks Ghazal and family for opening up your beautiful home to us.
My husband and our two littles along with their grandma stayed at Ghazal’s home in Edmonds for a week. Everything was great — beautiful & clean home with lots of space to make it plenty comfortable for our group. My 2.5 year old especially loved both the indoor and outdoor trampolines. Ghazal was a gracious host and easy to communicate with.
Ghazal is great at communication and making sure everything is clear. At the end even though we didn't do the exchange, it was great having a connection established with her! Very much looking forward to the exchange next time.
Ghazal was such a wonderful guest. Her communication was both pleasant and excellent and her family seemed to enjoy their time to the fullest! They also took such amazing care of our hike. Ghazal even took the time to dust, since v it builds up so quickly in our red sand dessert. They also communicated well with the next PLU guest and made them feel that things would be ready and waiting for them. Such an amazing family that are a huge plus to have in our community. We look forward to exchanging with them again in the future, when we stay in their PNW homes.
Thank you again Shannon! We absolutely loved your Whistler home. We made some amazing memories-including our kids’ first skiing trip!! We look forward to having you when you come our way.
It was such a pleasure having Ghazal and her lovely family at our appartment at Scheveningen beach. We spend an afternoon Together at the beach. Had fish and chips at the house and the next day Ghazal and I spend sightseeing in The Haque. So happy to hear they enjoyed our place and the beach.
We found the appartment perfectly clean and they left us nice presents. The boys even made paintings for us.
PLU truly is a community that makes friends. Looking forward to seeing them again in the future. Where ever in the world.
Ghazal and her extended family were perfect guests! It was a pleasure to host them, and we would welcome them back anytime. We hope they get a chance to return when our typical sunny San Diego can help them make more use of the pool.
Regardless of the weather (a little rainy) and us not fully utilizing the pool, we had an absolute blast! Thank you June. We look forward to welcoming you and your extended family this summer!
Ghazel and family were lovely guests. Communication was wonderful, both prior to arriving at our house and during their stay. Ghazel took extra care at check out to ensure all was clean and ready for our next guests. We really enjoyed hosting Ghazel's family and hope to host them again next winter season!
It has been a pleasure to exchange with Ghazal. We were in contact frequently and we got to know each other virtually. Ghazal wished to take her family to Portugal, a country that she loves and I was glad to share with her experiences of my own family at our place in the Algarve. I am very happy that they enjoyed their stay. I am sure we will meet in person at some point somewhere in the world.
Ghazal and her family have been incredible guests. Friendly, polite, fun, the children behaved great, they speak Spanish and were very affectionate. We¡re able to share a dinner at Carmen's house and we're very comfortable.
They're no longer guests, they're friends, and they can come back to our house whenever they want, they will be very welcome.
I recommend exchanging with them.
Conchi - thank you SO much for having us. Malaga is an amazing city to visit and we are so grateful to make family memories at your spacious home while being able to spend time with you and Juan Antonio and meeting your beautiful daughter. The memories will last a long time and I know we will return again. We welcome you to Seattle anytime!!
Ghazal and her family have been the perfect guests! The kids are the cutest duo, and I’m sure my dogs will miss all the attention received.
Ghazal and her family are the reason why we’ve joined the home exchanging world: beautiful people with wonderful stories to share. I feel lucky to have met them, even if just for a day, but I’m sure they’ll be in our hearts forever.
Oh Ana! Thank you for the amazing memories you allowed us to make in your piece of paradise in Ardea. I very much hope you and your family come and visit us in Edmonds/Bellingham. Our doors will always welcome you. Blessings to you and your family!
Ghazal is the best! She is a wonderful communicator and a very thoughtful, respectful guest. They were a party of 9 and you would never had known anyone had stayed in our home! I look forward to many more connections throughout the years. If you are looking for a PLU connection in the Seattle area I highly recommend connecting with Ghazal:)
We were happy we could offer our home to Ghazal and lovely family and friends for their last minute request. They were easy to communicate with. We were glad we had the chance to meet them before we headed out. They left our house clean and tidy as they found it. They are very welcome should they come back to Victoria.
Ghazal and her friend showed up in my house with a big smile and hug. They are super active, animal loving fun ladies and we connected immediately. I truly felt that they are "people like us", we share similar values and sense of respect to each other's homes. I cannot wait to visit Ghazal's lake house, and I would love to join her girlfriends' getaway trip there!
We were delighted we could provide a last minute non sim swap for this lovely family. They were easy to communicate with, and we got things sorted very quickly. We had a quick visit with them on their arrival. Their two little boys were so sweet, they even signed the thank you note! They left us some thoughtful gifts, left the house spotless, and were kind enough to water some of our outdoor plants. Thank you! We would certainly welcome them back anytime, and we are excited to be going to their holiday cottage sometime in the near future.
What a hidden GEM is the Lake House. We were so lucky to stay here and enjoy the area. So much to see and do.
The Lake House has all you need and more. You will not be bored here. Go swimming, kayaking, just looking at the lake with a nice cappuccino. Looking at the sunset, have a bbq on the deck.....
Ghazal is super and communication was great. She really want her guests to be happy and will do everything she can to make it work. We had the pleasure of having her over for the day. We jumped of the new dock together for the first time.
We're very much looking forward to seeing her again in the Netherlands and are very happy that our paths have crossed.
Such a fun spot right on the lake! 10 minutes from most things in Bellingham and it’s was a perfect place to come back to after exploring or riding bikes! We are so thankful we had the opportunity to exchange with Ghazal at two of her homes to make this epic month long adventure to Wa.
We had a wonderful stay at Ghazal's cabin where we were able to enjoy the lake, swimming and kayaking, and relax on the deck ! Ghazal was easy to reach and communicate with, as well as very responsive and helpful. We definitly recommand her for an exchange.
Thanks a lot, Ghazal !
We enjoyed this delightful cottage. A very relaxing getaway. Lots of ducks, geese, herons, and an occasional eagle. We swam in the peaceful lake, and enjoyed the kayaks. Some easy walking trails nearby, as well as some charming towns. We’d love to come back!
Ghazal is simply amazing! She is super carrying, accommodating and pleasant to communicate with. We had an amazing stay at her cozy cabin in Bellingham. The cabin is tiny, but super cute and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The view from the porch is simply breathtaking and the one we'll remember for years. While at the cabin we enjoyed sunbathing, fishing, kayaking and even swimming in the lake. We saw many bold eagles, tons of bunnies and two garden snakes. The area is so tranquil! There's lots to do near by, many parks, farms and other attractions. We are beyond thankful to Ghazal for allowing us to stay at her cabin, we made a ton of beautiful memories. Highly recommend this host!

Barbara was a guest in our Edmonds home for a week with our lovable Sophie. Super with communication, super as a guest and just flat out super! I was able to pick her up from the light rail station and meet for a short bit. We would love to have her back anytime!!
Feedback for Season·Non-Simultaneous exchange·9 nights
Season is just merely wonderful! We enjoyed our time so much in her spacious home, splashed in the pool and hot tub on off and on hiking days and St George is such a wonderful place to visit. We spontaneously booked one hotel night in Bryce so we weren’t driving a bunch and it worked out great. We are so blessed to have made these memories exploring Utah and already want to go back!! We look forward to welcoming Season to Edmonds.
Alan and Doris were wonderful guests! They stayed in our Edmonds home with our cuddly, dog for 4 nights. Communication was wonderful. It was lovely to meet them before our trip to go through the house. We returned as if no one was there…except that they left us a delicious fresh baked sourdough loaf! Alan and Doris are welcome back anytime.
Feedback for Shannon·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights
Shannon’s home is a Whistler dream! Located close to the Village-within a 5-10min drive, spacious, clean and has everything you need. She was wonderful to communicate with. If we could, we would LOVE to return next year or even this summer. What a wonderful home and we feel so grateful to be able to make wonderful memories. We stayed for 4 nights, skied for 2 days, explored the village one day and snowmobiled one day. So much fun!!
Feedback for Monique·Non-Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Oh gosh-where do I start besides…PLU bliss! We welcomed Monique and Jan to our Edmonds and Lake Samish home summer 2024.
We visited Den Hague/Scheveningan summer 2025. The home was absolutely wonderful! Location, cleanliness, communication, spaciousness, warmth of Jan and Monique, time spent together…
We had such a wonderful stay!!
This is a hidden gem!! What beautiful memories we made while visiting. Thank you so much!
Feedback for Natalie·Non-Simultaneous exchange·23 nights
Natalie and her family were amazing guests! They allowed us their car and home (although we did not stay in their home) when we were in San Diego in the spring and then we hosted them in our Edmonds home for 3 weeks in the summer and use of our car.
Great communication, warm family and they were wonderful with our little dog, Sophie!
We would welcome them back anytime and since we love San Diego…I certainly hope our paths cross again!
Feedback for JUNE·Non-Simultaneous exchange·7 nights
June is an absolute gem. She hosted us and our extended family for a very memorable spring break. While we brought our Seattle weather and couldn’t fully utilize the amazing pool, the family had an absolutely fun time. The house is incredibly family friendly with toys, balls and an amazing outdoor space (front and back of the house). The weather was perfect for short/no lines at Legoland, Zoo and Safari Park. We had such a blast and look forward to hosting June and her extended family in Seattle this summer! Thank you June!
Wow!! Thank you, Ghazal for the gracious and kind words. It truly was a delight to host your family. So glad the boys had such a great time, enjoying all of our grandkids toys.. Please thank them for the suite notes they left behind for us!
Feedback for Heather·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Heathers home was so special! We sat by the fireplace and played games, sledded down a wonderful hill right behind her home and although I can’t still convince my littles to going skiing yet, the lifts are across the street!!!!
Her home is spacious, cozy and well stocked. We feel blessed to have been able to spend time there this winter and hope to come back next snow season. Thank you Heather!!
Feedback for Monique·Non-Simultaneous exchange·11 nights
We hosted Monique and Jan at both our homes. They took care of our precious dog in our Edmonds home for a few weeks and then spent some time at the lake for a couple weeks. Jan likes to tinker and they both took wonderful care of our garden. I was lucky to go and meet them in and jump in the lake together while enjoying a great meal and talking about our travels. I look forward to seeing them in Netherlands next summer (if not before!).
Feedback for JasonandTatiana·Non-Simultaneous exchange·9 nights
Tatiana’s home is in a very centrally located neighborhood, close to the LX Factory and walkable to grocery, restaurants and shops. The home is very well equipped with magnificent views of the bridge. We appreciated some of the quirks of the home! Thank you so much for having our family. We got to really explore Lisbon and all its beauty. Thank you also for allowing us to join the car share during our stay!! Hope we can host you and your family in the PNW sometime.
Feedback for Palmira·Non-Reciprocal exchange·8 nights
Palmira is considered a friend. We had such an amazing time at her home. Her communication is flawless and we made wonderful memories at the beaches and the pool at her spacious, clean, well stocked home. Hope to have you in Seattle Palmira!
Your enthusiasm has made me a fan of home exchange! It has been interesting to follow your travels with your family! I am sure we will meet at some point!
Feedback for Monique·Non-Simultaneous exchange·20 nights
Monique and Jan stayed at our Edmonds home for 2.5 weeks and watched over our furry love, Sophie. They were incredible. They don’t sit still! We came back to an immaculately clean home AND yard! Their communication is wonderful and we can’t wait to visit their home next summer. We couldn’t ask for better guests…and now friends!
We had such an amazing time at Conchi’s home. We shared a special dinner together with Carmen and the husbands and our boys.
The home was very spacious with a great location. We found one of our favorite ice cream shops during our 9.5 week Europe trip nearby also-called Mederitto! We were bummed to miss the fair by one day, but that just means we need to go back!! Thank you Conchi and hope to see you and Juan Antonio and your daughter in Seattle
We had the pleasure of having Cassie, Johnathan and their family at our house for a few weeks in the summer. They gave SO much love to our dog, Sophie. She has some quirks and absolutely fell in love with them! It made it easier for us to leave her. We have never left her for a long period like this. We would highly recommend them. The communication was wonderful also! Come back anytime!!
Feedback for Brittany·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
We enjoyed having Brittany at our lake house. They doubled up and stayed in both our homes! She helped fix a few things and was wonderful in communicating before and during their stay. We hope to cross paths with her and her sweet family again.
Feedback for Ana Paula·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights
We were so lucky to overlap Ana by a night. She was so welcoming treating our kiddos to a fresh baked cake and her husband made us a fantastic, traditional meal. That was all after they picked us up from the train station…which is SUCH a treat when we are traveling with 2 small children.
The house is great. The kids loved the pool, the nearby beaches are incredible and I love how Ardea is off the beaten path in the midst of the busy tourist season.
We really enjoyed spending time with Ana’s husband Francesco also and hope to host them in Seattle!
Brittany and her sweet family stayed at our home for almost 3 weeks. She was very responsive and tended to our house (plants, mowing, fish, etc) and did the linens before departure considering new guests are coming in right after them. I enjoyed learning that their stay sparked a family reunion! Hope we cross paths again Brittany!!
Feedback for Emma·Non-Reciprocal exchange·6 nights
Emma and her family were the first to stay at our primary home. My husband, more than me, was a bit skeptical, but Emma left the house in great order. I would welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her for an exchange. She was wonderful in communicating with also.
Feedback for Shan·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Shan couldn’t make it on the exchange due to a last minute sickness in the family, but had communicated so well throughout as we were going to host a non-reciprocal exchange. Hopefully we can do it again sometime.
Feedback for Ken & Leanne·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Leanne is simply amazing. To allow a large group into a home is not the easiest. She did not hesitate to help host us for a "mini" family reunion. We had an amazing time in her cozy home with an amazing park in the backyard essentially. Her daughter also delighted both the kids and adults with a plane tour! We are beyond grateful for the memories made. Hope we are able to host them soon! Thank you!
Feedback for Christelle·Non-Reciprocal exchange·6 nights
We absolutely loved having Heather and Keith at our lake house. We were fortunate to stay at their beautiful Victoria (Canada) home a year prior as our first PLU exchange and almost a year later, host them at our place. Heather is wonderful with communication and left our home in amazing condition. Thanks for being our guests-come back anytime!
Feedback for Heather·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights

Feedback for Halyna·Non-Reciprocal exchange·17 nights
We had Marta (Halyna’s daughter) book our place. We had 6 guests and really had great response and communication leading up to, during and after the stay. They were our first PLU guests-we were thrilled to have them and would highly recommend them as guests!
Feedback for Tomoko·Non-Simultaneous exchange·5 nights
Tomoko was an amazing host! We had a girls long weekend in NYC. Her apartment is tidy, clean and in a perfect location in Long Island City-just across the water from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
I’m not much of a cat person (much prefer dogs), but her cat was awesome…and I confirm that she does indeed act more like a dog as Tomoko states.
We can’t wait to welcome Tomoko to our lakehouse in Bellingham when she’s ready to visit the Pacific Northwest for some swimming or skiing!
Feedback for Heather·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
We loved everything about Heather and Keith’s home. The convenient location close to downtown Victoria and backed to a park was perfect.
We were greeted by Keith and Heather, toured the home and left to a clean, cozy home. The generous thought of fresh cut flowers in each room, welcome basket full of yummy treats and toys/games for the kids were so unexpected. This was our first PLU exchange that all happened in 6 days as another exchange cancelled last minute. Heather and Keith had no plans and decided to take us on and rescue us since we were already booked for the visit.
What a way to start on this PLU journey-highly recommend this charming home with wonderful hosts!
