Neighbourhood

This is a traditional Portuguese neighborhood where you will find mostly locals and some expats. The apartment is located walking distance to downtown Almada and fun + lively Cacilhas (where you take a 10 minute ferry to get to downtown Lisbon). Almada is an eclectic, interesting area and really close to downtown Lisbon. On our street, there is a pharmacy, couple of restaurants, cafes, beauty shops, a fruit store and within 5 minutes, there are 3 larger grocery stores. The neighborhood is lively, but not too loud. There are very interesting areas in walking distance, such as Cova da Piedade (with beautiful street art/murals) and a huge park, Parque da Paz.

Lisbon International Airport - 20 minutes via vehicle

Getting around

The best way to get around is via public transportation and walking. It's also very affordable to take Bolts (rideshare) around.

Hey there! We are a Vegan family of 4 that LOVES to travel. We live in Almada, Portugal, just on the other side of the river from Lisbon. We moved to Portugal from Austin, TX in July 2021 and we are looking forward to traveling more throughout Europe and of course, sharing our lovely apartment and the wonders of Portugal with travelers. Our family is me (Tara), my husband, Fernando (originally from Chile) and our super respectful teens ages 15 and 17. I have a vegan travel blog - Vegan Family Adventures and Fernando is an artist and graphic designer and our teens are in high school in Lisbon.
