Neighbourhood
Balm Beach has outstanding sunset views over Nottawasaga Bay, on a clear day you can see the ski runs at Blue Mountain and beyond to the Bruce Peninsula. Georgian Bay and it's islands are a Canadian National Park.
The Balm Beach village is a short 10 min walk from our cabin and has a small store for basics + wine/beer, 2 restaurant/pubs with great view patios, a juice bar, water sports rental spot and summer time go karts and mini golf. There are nearby tennis courts, playgrounds, and sports fields within a short walk.
Our beach access is just across the street over the dunes (there are stairs). There is a lot of sandy coastline, from Wasaga to Thunder beach to explore.
Nearest airport
Toronto Pearson (YYZ) is 90 mins by car.
Getting around
Biking is popular along the beautiful waterfront and trails. A car is best for families touring the area:
The two lovely waterfront towns of Midland & Penetanguishene are just 10 min drive for all major shops and conveniences. There is a lot of beautifully presented history in the waterfront parks/trails and museums of the Huronia region. Ste Marie among the Hurons is a year round highlight, especially by candlelight at Christmas, as are the biking/hiking/snowmobile trails of region. Great destination for summer beaching, year round nature/bird watching, and just relaxing in nature.
