Our house is a cozy and charming century-old English-style cottage. The house is located in the Saint-Lambert borough on the south shore of Montreal. The streets in our neighborhood are lined with large mature trees. It's quiet and family oriented. Parks and shopping streets (cafes and terraces) are within walking distance. You have to go to “l’Échoppe des fromages” a famous bakery/cheese shop or “Les Semeurs” a small organic/local grocery store. There is amazing restaurants at walking distance like “Cru” known for their fish and oysters. The house, on 3 floors, has been completely renovated in recent years. It has 3 bedrooms upstairs; the master's bedroom with a queen size bed, and two kids bed in the other rooms. On the ground floor you have the living room, kitchen, and dining room and in the basement a playroom/home theater. The sofa in the basement is a hide-a-bed that can accommodate 2 people.   • Unfortunately due to illness, I was unable to go to Martin and Marie's home. But I met them at my home. What a great, nice family. I felt like immediate friends with the entire family. I was home a few days while they were in California and they were totally understanding due to my broken ribs and sprained hands that I just could not cook or host like I would have wanted to. I am sure we will stay in touch, and I look forward to meeting up again at their home in Canada sometime.

  • Hello This home exchange went very well: simple and friendly as we like them. We communicated easily with Martin and his family before departure and then during the stay. Their house is functional and clean, there is a small garden with a hammock and squirrels. transportation. In Saint Lambert we find everything we need! Close to Jean Drapeau Park (20 minutes) we were able to attend a festival and the Billie Eilish concert of which my daughter is a fan. Some national parks are less than an hour away by car. Quebec city is 3 hours away. We did 2 mini excursions of 3 days, one to Tadoussac and the other to NY.

Hi! We are a French-Canadian family of 4 (Martin, Marie-Élaine and our children Jules and Romy). Martin is a producer for CBC and Marie-Élaine is a television director/editor. We live on the south shore of Montreal in the Saint-Lambert neighborhood. In the summer of 2023, we did our first exchange with PLU with a French family in southern France. It went really well and we repeated the experience in the summer 2024 in San Francisco. PLU is a great way to travel and connect with new and interesting people.
