Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood is surrounded by the forest and hiking and biking trails. A cafe popular with locals and tourists called End of the Line is a 10 minute walk away. Its a great place for locally made products, last minute grocery items, candy, coffee and baked goods.
Lynn Valley Village and Centre offers grocery and retail stores, restaurants, medical clinics etc.. a 25 minute walk away or 5 minute drive or bus ride. Though be warned we lived at the top of the mountain so a 25 minute walk down also means a 25 minute walk up. A bus stop that can take you to the village centre and Downtown are just a block away from our home.
We are within close driving distance to three different ski hills (Grouse Mountain 15 mins, Cypress Mountain 20 mins, Seymour Mountain, 20 mins). It is also possible to take the bus to Grouse Mountain. A day trip to Whistler is also possible and is a 90 minute drive from our house. In the summer, all these ski resorts provide hiking and other summer activities.
The beaches of Ambleside and Dundarave in West Vancouver are also a 15 minute drive away, as is the popular inlet neighbourhood of Deep Cove.
Ferries to the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and Gulf Islands are a 20 minute drive away.
Nearest airport
Vancouver International Airport YVR is the main airport near us. However, there are flights that also use Abbotsford International Airport YXX.
Getting around
Locally, car, bus or walking will likely be sufficient to get around.
If you would like to go a bit further abroad or into the City of Vancouver, car is the most convenient though the bus can also be easily used.
