General overview
Relax in our comfortable lounge where the ocean seems like an infinity pool and watch the ever-changing seascape.
Set in Hunters Quay on the beautiful and rugged Cowal peninsula, it feels like it is on a secluded, rural island and yet it is only a little over 1 hour from Scotland's largest city - Glasgow.
The small coastal town of Dunoon is less than 5 minutes drive for all of your everyday shopping needs and there are a number of restaurants and cafes in the town and surrounding areas. (We'll leave you a list of our favourites!)
Just cross the road and you're right on the sea and there is a great coastal path for scenic walks, jogging and cycling - please use our gents and ladies bikes.
There are numerous easy day trips you could undertake. Loch Lomond (1 hour drive), Inverary (40 mins) and Isle of Bute (40 minutes) are just three examples but most of Scotland is accessible in a three hour radius.
The space
Our 2nd home forms the upper part of a villa built in 1906 by a wealthy Glasgow merchant. It is three doors away from Lipton House which was built by Sir Thomas Lipton of the famous tea family.
Guest access
Access is through a private, secure door at the rear of the property. There are stairs (shown in photos) up to the apartment and so it is not ideal access for those with mobility issues.
We have a lounge, large dining room and fully-equipped kitchen which all are at the front of the house and have incredible sea views.
There are two bedrooms - one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds.
There is a beautifully appointed bathroom with great shower and a roll-top bath and an additional WC room.
At the rear of the house is a small sun room/utility room with views over the secluded, private gardens.

Neighbourhood
Hunters Quay is a quiet, coastal and residential community just to the north of the small town of Dunoon (population 8,000).
There are a number of small shops within walking distance in the village of Kirn but most of your shopping needs are a 5 minute drive away in Dunoon.
Getting to my home
Glasgow Airport is about one hour away; Edinburgh Airport is about two hours away.
Getting to Hunters Quay from either would mean a train journey to Gourock and then a short ferry journey to the peninsula. Our home is about 150 yards from the Western Ferries terminal.
However, to take advantage of the opportunities in the area, a car is recommended and we may be able to arrange a car swap too if that is required.
Nearest airport
Glasgow Airport 1 hour
