We are just beside the world's longest freshwater beach and 15 minutes to the town of Wasaga Beach.
The "little beach" at the end of the street is perfect for sunset cocktails and the large sand beach to spend the day is 700m down the street. Both are great to launch kayaks, paddleboards and/or swim at.
We have been in this cottage since 2015 and love the area. Our area is relatively quiet and family friendly. If you want to travel Canada's Wonderland is about 65 minutes and downtown Toronto is about 90 minutes. Niagara Falls is roughly 2 hours away.
In the summer we have the best of both worlds. Full sun at the beach or bike/run stroll through the streets that are lined with oak and maple trees. We have a bush behind us and the Simcoe County forests that you can explore for trail running, biking, etc.
In the winter, the Township sets up outdoor skating rinks and you can also cross country ski in the bush behind us or on groomed trails in Wasaga/Midland or Collingwood. We are central to 3 of Ontario's ski hills : Blue Mountain, Snow Valley, Mount St. Louis Moonstone.
If you are a foodie both the Towns of Midland and Collingwood which are nearby have some great options.
The space
Our cottage is 4 bedroom with 2 bedrooms up and 2 down. Upstairs has a king with ensuite and a double. Downstairs we have another king and a double.
We have upstairs and downstairs family rooms to relax in. Both have gas fireplace and TV's. The house has full internet and we have local cable, Netflix, Prime, IPTV.
The back deck has a couple of areas to chat or swing in the hammock and relax. The front porch is fun to have coffee at and say hey to our neighbours who are truly fantastic.
The kitchen does not have a great deal of countertop room if that is very important to you.
