General Overview
We live in beautiful Bandon-by-the-Sea, in what I think it the most beautiful and charming town on the Oregon Coast. Our home is a comfortable older home at the end of a quiet dead end street, with giant Monterey Cypress Trees around us. We are only a few blocks to the ocean and charming Old Town. We have a very nice private backyard, perfect for sitting in and enjoying the peace and fresh air here. We are about 5 miles from Bandon Dunes Golf Resort with 5 18 hole courses and beautiful hiking trails, and several exceptional restaurants. We have wonderful places to ride bikes and many good hiking trails within a half hour drive, as well as the most beautiful beach in the world just down the street. We are 3 hours from Crater Lake National Park and close to many beautiful rivers and beaches. We are about 2 hours drive away from the Redwoods and it is a stunning drive almost the entire way!
We are a great place for nature lovers and beach lovers, who enjoy a slower pace.
The Space
We have a 4 bedroom home, however we usually only have two of the bedrooms are designated guestrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. The bedroom upstairs has a queen bed and a built in twin bed into the wall and it could used for a 3rd person in that room. There is a full bathroom with shower and tub upstairs. The newest guestroom includes a queen bed and a brand new 3/4 bathroom downstairs. There is also a small half bath downstairs. We could make a 3rd bedroom available for a globe
Guest Access
There are 2 steps up to the front door. One of the bedrooms is upstairs with a full bath, and one bedroom is downstairs with a 3/4 bath (just a shower with no tub)
Notes
We are a pet free and smoke free home. We take our shoes off upon entering. We keep our home neat and tidy. My adult son lives nearby so he is available to help with any issues that may come up with the house while we are away.
We may consider swapping cars in a reciprocal exchange.

Neighbourhood
We are located at the end of a very quiet dead-end street, surrounded by majestic Monterey Cypress trees. It is just a few blocks walk to our Old Town on the Coquille River, and another few blocks to get to the Pacific ocean itself. There are quite a few good restaurants within walking distance and a number more out at the Bandon Dunes Resort, about a 10 minute drive away. We have a wonderful City Park about a half mile away with a great playground, a disc Frisbee course, a library, and a nice performing arts theater with frequent music and drama productions. We think that we live in the best part of town and on the best street. Our neighbors are all very friendly.
Getting to my home
We are about half way between San Francisco and Seattle, so we make a good half way destination. (about 8 hours to either place)
Nearest airport
We have a small airport in North Bend which has flights between OTH and SFO on United. In the summer time there are also flights added to Denver Colorado.
Eugene Airport is about 2.5 hours away and Medford about 2.25 hours, for domestic flights or connections to PDX. Portland/PDX is about 4.5 hours away for international flights.
Getting Around
We have a nice full service grocery store about .5 miles away, many restaurants within walking distance less than .5 mile away. It is possible that we could make a car available for a globe.

People Like Us Local Guide
If I am available, I always love to meet new people from other parts of the world and learn from each other. If my husband isn't working, he may like to join us too.
We had a WONDERFUL stay at Tom and Camy's home in Bandon, OR. My husband and I came with our two daughters, ages 16 and 11, on vacation from Florida to explore the Oregon coast. Bandon was our home base for a week of that time and the house was fantastic! Totally walkable both to the breathtaking beach as well as to the charming Old Town Bandon area and riverfront. If you have never been to the Oregon coast before, do it! This was easily one of the most beautiful places we have ever been.
Some of the things we did include:
• Exploring tidepools with sea anenomies and starfish galore, seeing tons of seals in close range and watching beautiful sunsets at Coquille Point (1 mile through the neighborhood to this beach.)
• Walking around the Riverfront and Old Town area.
• Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boat Ride in Gold's Beach
• An fun overnight in Crescent City, CA to see the redwoods.
• Beautiful Shore Acres State Park
• Beautiful views, and even swimming, along the Elk River
• And more
Communication with Camy was easy and she has a helpful guidebook prepared for the house and the area. Everything at their home was very clean, comfortable and convenient.
Incredibly comfortable home with 4 bedrooms for 4 golfers, to rest after wearing themselves out at Bandon Dunes. Camy and Tom were great communicators, and their house was well stocked for all of our needs. Outdoor grill, kitchen amenities, and bedrooms were all incredibly comfortable.
They left us a beautiful loaf of bread and homemade crisp which was delicous and really appreciated!
Can't thank them enough for their hospitality and kindness.
Camy and Tom are such lovely people that we sincerely hope their plans to visit us in England next year come to fruition.
We got to Christen their new annex and it was a perfectly self-contained and sizeable unit - think spacious one-bed condo.
The location is right near downtown Bandon, in a quiet street with friendly neighbours that is a short distance from the all-important beaches and stacks, but also the old town proper.
Camy and Tom are easy to talk to, conscientious hosts that took the time to show us the key features of Bandon. It is people like them that make PLU what it is: the friendliest home exchange website.
It was a pleasure staying in Camy and Tom’s home in Bandon last week. The accommodations were comfortable and quiet, in a lovely setting. We especially enjoyed being close to the town of Bandon with its beauty and charm. So much to discover with the amazing coastline! Camy and Tom gave us great recommendations of what to see and do. They were very communicative and welcoming. We highly recommend an exchange with Camy and Tom in Bandon!
We had a good HEx with Camy and her husband. They enjoyed Sedona and our home. We had very good communication throughout the whole process. We would welcome them back.
Camy and Tom stayed in our house in January and left it clean and tidy. They were thoughtful communicators before and after their stay.
We enjoyed having them stay and they left us some tasty homemade jam, grown in their area along the Oregon coast. We look forward to being hosted by Camy & Tom this summer.
It was very spécial To met Camy and Tom ! They havé bene xonderful guests and left thé House impeccable ! Wesh We were not living so far away in ordre To see each ôter pf t’en… it was like meeting friends!
Carrie and her family are delightful and were lovely to host in our home. We enjoyed meeting them over a video chat first and then through subsequent texts and emails before and during their stay. They left the home in great shape and it is clear that they took excellent care. I would highly recommend them for a stay in your home if the opportunity comes up.
Feedback for Judy·Non-Reciprocal exchange·3 nights
We enjoyed "meeting" Judy and Larry via a zoom meeting before the visit. Communication was excellent throughout the process and we were happy to host Larry and his golfing friends for a few days of golf at the Bandon Dunes Resort. Larry was very good about letting us know how things were going, and left the house in good condition. We hope to meet Larry and Judy in person someday as they live just up the coast from us, and they are welcome back anytime :-)
Feedback for Bert·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
We had a wonderful stay in Bert and Patricia's home in Sedona. The home was absolutely beautiful with artwork and treasures from around the world and a view that we could not get enough of. We went hiking early every day and always looked forward to coming home and having the afternoon to lounge on the deck, admire the gorgeous red rock views, and use the well equipped kitchen for most of our meals.
Communication with Bert before and during our trip was excellent and he was always available to answer any questions for us.
We Loved staying in their home and we Love Sedona!
Thank you Bert and Patricia :-)
Feedback for Karen·Non-Simultaneous exchange·6 nights
We had a lovely six nights day at the Osgood home. It was in a very nice neighborhood with a beautiful yard and a wonderful front porch to sit out on and watch the sunrise. The home was very clean and comfortable and well stockdd. Communication was very clear and the home was very user-friendly. The hot tub in the private backyard was a nice addition.
We loved our time in Santa Barbara and getting to know the town and a few of the hikes the hills. There are so many things to do, and beautiful walks to take.
Thank you again Karen and Garrett for opening up your lovely home to us. 💜 We look forward to hosting you in Oregon this summer
Feedback for Peter & Teodora·Non-Reciprocal exchange·1 night
We were contacted by Peter and Teodora for a 1 night hospitality stay for their extended trip on the west coast of the USA. We decided to say YES and I am so glad that we did. They were a charming couple and we were able to have them for a dinner and show them around our beaches afterwards for the sunset. We offered them our newly completed studio cottage to be our first guests, before we start renting to traveling medical professionals. Peter had created some original artwork based on photographs that he had seen of the Oregon Coast, and he let us choose one of them, and even put it in a nice frame for us. We are so glad that we said YES to this hospitality stay and will likely do it again in the future if it works for our schedule. We might even try it ourselves and hope to visit them in England some day :-) They left our cottage in perfect condition and were perfect guests!
Feedback for Jeanne·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights
We really enjoyed our stay in Jeanne and Kevin's home. It is located in a nice older neighborhood in Napa with many older well maintained homes., about a half mile walk from the center of town. The home was beautiful and clean and very well equipped in the kitchen. We enjoyed being able to sit outside in the private backyard and enjoy the evening. There were gas heaters outside, but it was not cool enough to use them. The covered front porch was nice and we appreciated being able to keep our bikes in the garage. We rode our bikes along the bike path to Yountsville one day, and took a hike another day along the Skyline Trail, which we recommend. Everything was absolutely perfect in the home and Jeanne was excellent about responding to questions and so friendly. I would recommend an exchange with them any time :-)
Feedback for Julia·Non-Reciprocal exchange·6 nights
We had the most wonderful stay at Richard and Julia's place in Chianti. Their charming restored farmhouse is lovingly decorated and very comfortable and well equipped for a longer stay. We really enjoyed the area for how easy it was to get to many places which we wanted to explore (Sienna, San G. and the lovely towns and villages in the Chianti region, Radda, Greve, Gaiole, and the small hamlet of Monti nearby.) There are electric bikes which you can rent next door at B & B, and it is a wonderful area to ride bikes around. Lots of rolling hills with beautiful vistas, dotted with vineyards and olive and cypress trees. It was very green there, even in September. We loved the shaded yard overlooking the vineyards and the views were so peaceful and serene. It is a very quiet place to rest and restore and have a comfy home base.
If you are fortunate, like we were, Richard and Julia may be there as well in their home upstairs, and that only added to our experience, as they are such lovely people, kind and generous. Thank you so much Julia and Richard for hosting us and sharing your lovely place with us. You are the best!
Ted and Susan were our first official exchange, however due to unforeseen circumstances ,we were unable to stay at their home at this time. We look forward to being able to visit sometime in the future if it works out, as we love the Bend area and their home looks perfect for us.
ed and Susan were our wonderful first guests, and although I did not get to meet them. my husband did we also were able to "meet" through a zoom meeting once we decided to make the exchange. They were excellent about communicating with us and left our home in perfect condition. We were unable to stay at their home due to some unfortunate weather events, but hope to be able to visit them and their home in the future.

Camy
HI we are Camy and Tom and we love living on the Oregon Coast. We love to hike, bike, spend time with our grown children and grandchildren, and explore the world. We previously used to rent out a room in our home with Airbnb and we loved hosting people from all over the world. We love to travel to Europe, and across the Western USA in our little trailer. We live in such a beautiful area half way between San Francisco and Seattle, in the cutest little town on the Oregon Coast with the most scenic beaches.
