Neighbourhood
At the harbour you can eat at severel restaurants, go for icecream or catch crabs. The ferry goes to Hundested, where there are more restaurants and during summer a sandsculpture-exhibition. The ride takes 20 minutes and if the weather is good it is a nice trip.
if you like to walk, there is the lake ‘Dybesø’ nearby. There is also a good trail on ‘højsandet’ which starts by The lake. There is The stone where The vikings crowned there Kings because it was The middle of Denmark (it is not huge or spectacular, but it is nice to have a goal) and if you drive to ‘vejrhøj’ there is a hill with (more old stones) and a really good view over the bay.
In Nykøbing there is a public swimhall open everyday, but check at which hours.
Copenhagen is one hour away by car. Roskilde and Lejre have good museums for vikings; villages and ships.
