General Overview

Our home is located on the clifftop between Snells Beach and Algies Bay, just over 1 hour north of downtown Auckland. It is very sunny with stunning views of nearby islands and the Kawau Bay.

The Space

There is one bedroom with a queen size bed and one single room. We would prefer the master suite not to be used however in special circumstances it could be negotiable. The lounge/dining/kitchen area is open plan, opening onto large deck spaces on both sides of the house ensuring there is always a sheltered spot. There is a second lounge/office space with the 2 bedrooms opening off it. The main bathroom has a bath, separate shower, vanity unit and toilet. The laundry has a washer and dryer.

Guest Access

The living space is on a single level with a garage underneath and internal stairs leading up to the living area. There is a lift in the garage which rises and opens into the second lounge making easy access for someone with a disability or moving bulky items. Access to the front is by exterior stairs and the back entrance is at ground level. There is offstreet parking for a car on the driveway.

Notes

The property is not suitable for young children due to the clifftop location. It is bordered by well planted gardens and shrubbery and is quite safe however it is not fully fenced and visitors need to be aware of this.

Neighbourhood

There are public walkways nearby leading to Algies Bay via the donkey sanctuary on one side of us and Snells Beach on the other, both within a 10 minute walk. Scandrett Regional park and beach is 5 minutes away and Tawaharanui Regional Park approximately 25 minutes. There you will find beautiful white sand beaches with good surf. Omaha beach is also beautiful along with Goat Island Marine reserve which is renowned for it's snorkeling and diving. Again both are about 25 minutes away. Kawau Island with it's historic Mansion House, walking trails and picturesque bays is easily accessible by ferry from Sandspit wharf just 10 minutes drive away. Matakana Village with it's boutique style shops, cafes, restaurants and cinema is approximately 10 minutes drive and has a very popular farmers market every Saturday. The local Snells Beach shops are within walking distance and basic provisions can be picked up there, however Warkworth township, 10 kms away has supermarkets, banks etc for more options.

Getting to my home

There are local buses which connect from Auckland City and Warkworth to Snells Beach however a car is really necessary to see the area easily. Buses can take you to and from the Malls at Silverdale and Albany.

Auckland Airport is 65kms, 1 1/4 hours away.
