Neighbourhood
Columbia Heights has a mix of creatives, international professionals and one of DC’s most densely populated 'hoods supporting homey restaurants and bars. The area’s main drags are 11th, 14th and 16th streets, starting at U Street NW. Along 16th Street, you’ll find embassies and international organizations, most housed in impressive early 19th-century structures with architectural flourishes – turrets, stained glass, balconies. You can check out exhibits on south-of-the-border art and life at the Mexican Cultural Institute, housed in a grand mansion (and one-time Embassy of Mexico).
Nearest airport
DCA, Ronald Reagan. Dulles and BWI in VA and MD.
Getting around
Walking, biking (bikes for rent all over city), Metro (Greenline U Street or Columbia Heights), buses (11th, 14th, 16th Street buses).

People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
