General Overview
Bright and sunny two bedroom apartment 1 block from the ocean with a patrolled beach. The Gold Coast is Australia's family favourite holiday destination with Movieworld, Dreamworld, Seaworld and Wet and Wild for a great family vacation. Also within 30 minutes from Mount Tamborine with rain forest skywalks, glow worm caves wineries and historic pubs Great shopping at Pacific Fair or Harbourtown Outlet.
The Space
The apartment is in a three storey walk up building without an elevator and we are on the first floor overlooking the pool and spa. The location is ideal - one block from the ocean and one block from shops, bars, restaurant and cafes.

Notes
As we travel quite a lot we also rent the apartment via Airbnb, but it's often free. Our calendar is up to date until summer 2024 but let us know when you want to exchange further in the future. When we arrange an exchange, we will block our Airbnb calendar to avoid conflicting interests. Your exchange will be guaranteed.

Main Beach is a short 5 minute tram ride to Surfers Paradise and public transport is very good. It isn't necessary to have a car. Tedder Avenue has five cafes that are very popular for breakfast and coffee, two bars that have live music and seven restaurants all within five minutes walk. We are surrounded by parks and great beach side hiking trails.
Getting to my home
Coolangatta airport is the closest, but there is a airtrain link from Brisbane Airport also. The Brisbane airtrain connects with the tram to Main Beach and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
Getting Around
There are two excellent supermarkets - one walking distance and the other 5 minutes on the tram. There is also a local shop in Tedder Avenue for milk and essentials.

We had such a lovely time staying at Shirley and Richard’s comfortable apartment. It was so centrally located at Main Beach that we never needed to use our car and travelled everywhere on foot on by bus or light rail. The nearby restaurants and cafes were fantastic. And the beach, which is only steps away, was beautiful and we had it almost to ourselves! The apartment itself is spacious and full of light, the bed and furnishings are very comfortable, the kitchen and laundry are well equipped, and there are two private patios for enjoying a cuppa while enjoying the sea breeze. The apartment overlooks the pool which is a great spot to cool off, surrounded by tropical gardens. Shirley and Richard are incredibly lovely and thoughtful and we felt so lucky to be able to meet and have a drink with them, as they were petsitting nearby. We now consider them friends as well as exchange partners - they are truly sweet and wonderful people. We have already organised another exchange with them for next year and can’t wait! -
Shirley was a pleasure to swap with. The place was perfect for my time there and location unbeatable! -
We had a wonderful time at Shirley's beautiful apartment. This is the second time we have stayed there, and I hope to stay again in the future. We will be welcoming Shirley to ours in March. It is great to have a place to go to that is local - only 1 hour away. -
We had a fabulous time at Shirley's apartment. It is a beautiful comfortable apartment in a small complex. It is situated just off the main avenue with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants. It is a short walk to the beach. Shirley left us starting food supplies, so we didn't have to go out straight to the shops for food etc. This generous gesture was very much appreciated. Shirley also gave us many suggestions on where to go and restaurants /cafes to try. Communication was so easy and prompt. I would love to stay again. Shirleys place is just over an hour from mine, and this was our first local exchange and hopefully it won't be the last.

Shirley & Colin have a lovely apartment in a perfect location. They were both so helpful with information, communication and support- even lent me their car very generous and much appreciated. My daughter joined me for a week then my grandson visited for a few days - we all enjoyed comfortable home and beautiful beach location. So many things in walking distance and public transport was excellent. Would love to visit again in the future. -
Staying in Shirley's house was a wonderful experience for our first house swap! Lovely place, great position and the whole process was easy and enjoyable! Her unit is spotless and very well equipped and we look forward to organising more swaps in the future and hosting Shirley and her partner in Lennox Head soon!
