General overview
Welcome to Canada's Capital Region!
Our house provides access to the outdoor activities of Gatineau Park and the attractions of the city of Ottawa - in both cases a fifteen minute drive. Hike during the day and hang out at a trendy restaurant in the evening!
Our large home is perfect for families (large playroom in the basement, kid-friendly spaces) or a small group (the basement also has its own living space).
We are 2h15 from Montreal, 1h45 from Mont Tremblant, 4h30 from Toronto.
We are looking for local exchanges (we often come back to Montreal, otherwise we like chalet weekends) and international ones: we are preparing a trip of several months between January and June. We are interested in the Caribbean, Central and South America for the winter as well as Europe from April to June. We have a globe to offer but we are particularly interested in reciprocal exchanges :)
The space
We have a large three-bedroom house upstairs (one master bedroom with walk-in closet, two children's bedrooms) with a full bathroom (separate shower and bath). We can add a regular single mattress or an inflatable queen mattress upon request.
There is also an open bedroom in the basement (double Murphy bed) with a second bathroom with shower. (pictures to come)
We have a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining room, which overlooks the terrace. In summer, enjoy meals on the terrace surrounded by mature trees.
We are fully equipped to receive children and babies (playpen, toys, high chairs). We have a double garage with several outdoor equipment at your disposal (cross-country skis, snowshoes, ski or bicycle cart, tennis rackets, three adult bicycles, child bicycle seat). We also lend our winter clothes.

Neighbourhood
Very family neighborhood a few steps (300m) from the children's park, the soccer field, the municipal swimming pool (free) and two tennis courts (free). We also go to the grocery store on foot via a path in the forest (16 minutes walk).
Forest trails (cross-country ski trails in winter) and bike paths joining the Gatineau Park network are easily accessible from the house.
We reach downtown Ottawa in 10 minutes by car (or 25 minutes by bike or public transit).
Getting to my home
Montreal airport: 1h45 by car or train
Ottawa Airport: 40 minutes by car
Train station: 25 minutes by car or one hour by train and public transport
Nearest airport
19km (YOW Airport)
Getting around
We recommend a car to explore the area. Our car could be at your disposal (family VW) if we don't go with it.
That said, downtown Ottawa is easily accessible by public transit from home or by bike (25 minutes in both cases).

Claude
We are a young family of four: Claude, 33, a family doctor, Renaud, 35, a lawyer/Canadian government official, Madeleine (2020) and Clémence (2022). We traveled across the province of Quebec with our van on our first parental leave, and did over 10 home exchanges across Europe on our second parental leave. It was a total success! We are now ready for our next adventures! We look for child-friendly homes, locally or around the world. (And we have a precious Globe to offer)
