General Overview

We are a Franco-Mexican couple. We teach French at a university in Chiapas, Mexico. My husband is Chiapanec and will be delighted to talk to you about his region and its customs. We love to travel in our spare time! Usually in the summer we go to France, and the rest of the time to Mexico or neighboring countries. Very calm and respectful, we love long walks, reading at the beach, board games and ... eating well :)

The Space

Pretty house in a quiet area and many amenities 5 minutes walk away. The house has 2 bedrooms with king size beds and one bedroom with a double bed (possibility of having an extra small bedroom with a single bed). There are also 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen and a patio. We do not use shoes inside the house

Notes

We are 25 minutes from the Canyon del Sumidero and the beautiful village of Chiapa de Corzo. 50 minutes from San Cristobal de las casas and many villages such as San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan. Also see: Chiflon, Cima de las Cotorras for abseiling, the magnificent ruins of Palenque, Agua Azul... I can recommend a friend who has a travel agency and who offers personalized tours if you wish. If you like authenticity, you will find it when visiting Chiapas.

Very easy to get around with the combis which pass every 5 minutes (for 8 pesos) or the taxis/Uber. I can provide my car for trips close to home.

  • We had a really nice time in Laures house in Tuxtla Gutierrez. Its not the city all tourists go because they go to San cristobal. But if you like to stay outside of all the touristy things Its really nice and an option to see and experience more of the unknown part. Laure and i talked a lot before and she have me advice what to visit, cheaper flights, transport and we were lucky to use the car. We visited a real nice place in the beach for 1 night, did the canon del sumidero by boat and drove to the miradores , went to San cristobal and all these routes with amazing views and scenery. The house is really nice, big and comfortable, very nice neighbour which felt like a family welcome. Quiet neighbourhood really nice to chill after days of seeing a lot. Really felt like aan exchange with friends we know a long time because of the nice communication we had. Hope we can meet maybe in the future. Laure please come by when you visit france again.
