The space
We live in a spacious contemporary house with large windows bringing natural sunlight to our home. It's a two story house build in 2015.
Downstairs you'll find the hallway, utility room, toilet and a large open spaced kitchen and living room with tv and gas fireplace. During the summer months we very much enjoy the garden and terrace grill, which is just outside the kitchen.
Upstairs you'll find the master bedroom with connecting bathroom with tub, two children’s rooms, the children’s bathroom, a piano room, an open home office with a sofabed as well as balcony from which you can enjoy the sunset.
Our home easily accommodates seven people: one big double bed (180x200cm), two small double beds (140x200cm) and a sofa bed (70x190cm / 140x190cm)
For leisure and transportation, you are free to use our canoe and bikes. Our children are grown, but if you come with small children, we can provide toys for them.

Neighbourhood
The house is situated in the university town of Kongens Lyngby, which is in the northern district of Greater Copenhagen approx. 10 km from the citycenter of Copenhagen. Trains run approx. every 5 minutes during daytime, and it takes 15-20 minutes to reach the center by train.
The surroundings of Kongens Lyngby include lakes, streams, forests, and beaches. However, the suburb also offers many shops, cafés and great restaurants as well as an indoor shopping centre and a department store.
Our home is perfectly located in a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood only a few minutes’ walk from the lake, playgrounds, train station and shopping. The beach of Frederiksdal and Bellevue and is no more than 5-7 km away.
Kongens Lyngby is the perfect starting point if you want to go sightseeing not only in Copenhagen (named Top city to visit for Best in Travel 2019 by Lonely Planet), but all over Zealand (Hamlets Castle in Helsingør, The Viking museum in Roskilde etc.). In Kongens Lyngby and surroundings you also find several famous attractions such as the world's oldest amusement park "Bakken", the open-air museum of old countryside dwellings "Frilandsmuseet" and the UNESCO World Heritage Natural Reserve "Dyrehaven".

When arriving at Copenhagen Airport you just take the metro to the Central Station. From there you pick the S-train to Kongens Lyngby. Our home is a short walk from the station.

Jane
We are a family of 4 - Phillip (56), Jane (52) and our two children Pauline (20) and Julius (17). My husband and I both work in IT. Phillip as a business architect and I as a process manager.
We love to see new places and cultures, so don't hesitate to send a request.
My husband and I are interested in history, architecture and design just as we love nature and stunning scenery. Like most teenagers the children loves to spend the summer by the pool or at the beach, just as they love to go skiing during wintertime.
Since the children have school to attend, we are mainly interested in house swapping during extended weekends and school holidays. I.e. Autumn (week no. 42), Christmas (week no. 52 and no. 1), Winter (week no. 7), Easter (week no. 15), Summer (week no. 27-32).
We have done 5 exchanges (Host 3 and Guest 2) on another site, on which we are still active. They were all very successful, as you can read from the reviews on the other site (HomeExchange.com #1680524)
A clean and organised home is important to us and we promise to take good care of your home, just as we expect you to pay respect to ours. Home exchange is based on trust and we believe in building a bond and getting to know one another through written messages and video meetings, before exchanging homes. We also like to catch up after an exchange and we count on our guests to write a review, just as we will write one about our experience. So far we have only meet lovely people through home exchange - maybe you're the next?
By the way, we may also be open to exchanging cars. We own a Skoda Octavia Combi.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
