General overview
Our Raglan home is a spacious 3 bedroom 1 bathroom 1920's craftsman bungalow boasting style, privacy, central location and BIG water views. All Raglan has to offer is right here on your back doorstep.
Raglan is a hippy eclectic surf town just two hours drive from Auckland Airport that welcomes tourists.
Filled with artists of all genres. Raglan is adored by everyone who visits. Best known for it waves amongst surfers, but also for its groovy coffee shops and surreal natural landscapes.
The space
The open-plan interior merging lounge, kitchen and dining room is flooded with light maximizing views from every vantage. French doors create indoor / outdoor flow, opening onto wrap around decks and a spacious lawn.
There’s a modern kitchen with oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher in addition to cooking utensils, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities. Basic cooking amenities (salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc) are also provided.
The lounge is furnished with soft Persian wool rugs resting on heart rimu floors, leather couch, arm chairs, coffee table and a flat-screen smart TV.
Dividing the space and commanding the room is a well-stocked book case and period fire place with custom tile accents and stone work, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
There are three bedrooms, each with cotton sheets, down/feather duvets, electric blankets and quality pillows. Two of the bedrooms have comfortable queen size beds. The third bedroom has a single bed and desk, which can also serve as a work space.
The bathroom features a classic subway tiled shower/bath combo with an oversized tub perfect for soaking in. A repurposed vintage oak cabinet with dual sinks serves as the vanity.
This home is about spending time with loved ones, enjoying the landscape and everything Raglan has to offer.
Guest access
Via the front door at ground level. You will have exclusive use of the entire house including multiple outdoor spaces.
Notes
Please note there is a detached cottage at the back of this property that maybe occupied by owners or guests during your stay.
To maximize views our decks do not have railings and as such we are not suitable families with infants and young children.
We ask that our guests absorb the cleaners fees at the completion of their stay.

Stroll to the waters edge, adventure playgrounds, skate park, pump track, restaurants, bars and Raglan’s retail hub in 10 mins.
Drive 5km to Ngaranui Beach for a swim in the Tasman Ocean, a long beach walk, or a surf at world famous point breaks, Manu Bay, Whale Bay or Indicators.
From the wrap around deck and large green spaces, perhaps dial it back and do absolutely nothing but watch the light and tidal changes as the sun sets across Kaitoke inlet, Mount Karioi and the Raglan Bar

While there is public transport to Raglan to make the most of your time here we recommend having a private vehicle.

Auckland airport is 150km away, taking 1.5 to 2 hours to travel to via car.

Andrea and Derek's lovely home in Raglan was the perfect introduction to New Zealand! Beautiful and well-appointed, this home is even better than the photos. The sleepy little surf town of Raglan was just the spot we needed to relax and explore the area. You'll likely have more choices than time but the beaches, waterfalls restaurants and scenery will all take your breath away. Andrea and Derek were responsive and caring hosts who made our stay easy and enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying at their home and exploring beautiful Raglan! We can't wait to return to New Zealand and when we do, Derek and Andrea's home will be at the top of the list! -
We loved our stay in Raglan at Derek and Andrea’s home . They were really amazing to exchange with and feel like we have new friends. The home is well located and an easy walk into town and the water front . Derek was super helpful and suggested many things for us to do while we were there . It was an A+ exchange!

Hello! We are Derek & Andrea. We bounce between New Zealand and the USA. Normally we host and travel via Airbnb but PLU has proven a great alternative.
We love the outdoors, mountains and the ocean and generally seek destinations that maximize our time in these environments.
We are interested in extended exchanges for duration's of between 1-4 weeks. For the right location we would also happily consider a 1-3 month exchange. We are also more than happy to house and animal sit.😊
