Neighbourhood
We live on the outskirts of a lovely village. There is a small post office and village shop a 10 minute walk away. There is a kids play park in the village that caters for younger and older children.
The village hosts Derbyshire oldest tree and is known to be the marriage place of Robin Hood and Maid Marion, and you will also find an old suspension bridge across the river dove on your walk towards Uttoxeter.
There are plenty of lovely walks around the area, both from the village and also short drives away in the PEAK District.
There are multiple lovely NATIONAL Trust properties on our doorstep, as well as the UKs largest theme park, ALTON towers.
Our central location means we are around an hours drive from a number of cities such as Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester.
Nearest airport
East mids airport is 40mins, Liverpool / manchester / Birmingham airports around 1-1.5hour drive.
Getting Around
It is a 10 min walk to the local village shop / post-office or a 20 min walk / 5 min drive /10 min bus journey to the closest town for main supermarkets etc.
We are 20mins drive from some of the most picturesque parts of the Peak District and Staffordshire Morrlands.

Where to start! We have had the most wonderful month long globe exchange at Katie's home. It seemed like there was so much time and before we knew it the month had gone - but not before we fitted in as much as we possibly could of the plethora of things to do nearby!
Firstly, Katie is absolutely lovely and a breeze to communicate with. She also responded so quickly to any questions we had. Reassuring to know she was there if ever needed, given we were there for a month.
Katie's home is large, spacious and warm and so easy to feel at home in. It is kitted out with everything you could need. We were there for the month of October and it was just starting to get a little chilly, but we were super toasty and loved the wood burner.
We loved morning coffee at Sudbury Stables and the endless number of walks, lovely villages and National Trust properties within easy reach. We also loved cycling the Tissington trail.
I would love to think we could one day return to the Peak District - it is wonderful.
All of this would never have been possible without the generosity of Katie and her family and PLU. Thank you so much Katie and please look us up if you're in Auckland next year!!
Thank you for the lovely review, it was a pleasure to host you both 😊
Lovely home in fantastic location ideal for exploring this beautiful part of England. Communication was excellent throughout the process and the home lived up to its description and photos. Every home comfort, loads of space, pretty garden with nice views. If you are lucky enough to be offered a swap with Katie I would jump at the chance.
A comfortable and welcoming home + a fascinating area to explore + hosts who care about their exchange partners experience = a perfect exchange. In fact, our exchange with Katie, Simon and family couldn't be described as anything less than perfect.
The Peaks District offers a lot to be discovered, not just for lovers of nature, but also students of culture and history. Thanks to Katie and her local knowledge, we managed to explore much of it.
The rural surrounds made their house an enjoyable retreat after a day of exploration. We felt we were staying in a home, rather than a house.
Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer.
If you are looking for an exchange full of interesting options , in a comfortable house with every convenience, and with genuine people, we suggest you contact Katie..
Katie’s home is simply exceptional! It’s so warm and homely, it makes for a wonderfully relaxing stay here.
We visited as Katie’s home is in the same
Village as some family but wish we had been able to stay longer.
The kids loved watching the geese out the big windows at the back and my eldest is now an expert grasshopper finder!
Katie was extremely helpful with very clear instructions and recommendations and I’d very much love to come back to tick more things off the list. Our trip very much consisted of lots of things to keep the kids entertained. We visited the local soft play, a play village in nearby Ashbourne (must visit if visiting with children!) and of course Alton Towers. We even managed to go to an exotic petting event (thanks Katie for the tip!) where my 3yr got to hold a skunk and a tenrec (hedgehog if you ask her!) and I had the pleasure of the tarantula!
The home itself is exceptionally well thought out and could be home to a small or large family. There is nothing you need that’s not there.
Very much hope we can visit again!
Ah thank you, we are so glad you had a great time! And that the kids kept entertained 😊 Do get in touch for your next trip and hopefully we can figure out some dates that work at some point in the future 😊 x
We had a wonderful exchange at Katie and Simon's. The house is very comfortable and well setup. It was great to be part of english village life for a little while. We loved the location - so close to lots of things to see and do. Walks in the Peak District National Park were a real highlight.
Communication with Katie was super easy and friendly. We got lots of tips for things to do and some great activities for the children. It was great to hear about their world schooling adventures!
Our stay in Katie’s beautiful home was nothing short of perfect. The home itself felt like just that……a home. Comfortable and welcoming with space for everyone, everything you could need and a lovely outside area for relaxing at the end of the day.
The area….. nothing short of spectacular. We had a full month exchange with the intention of visiting other areas during our time……. Instead we rambled through the Peaks district exploring deeply, soaking in the atmosphere, tripping over history everywhere we went, delighting in the abundance of nature and beauty around us, strolling down unexpected paths and discovering unexpected delights at every corner
Thank you Katie for such a treasured experience. We loved every moment in your home and community. We would return in a heart beat
Wow, what can I say other than if you have the chance to exchange with Katie and Simon, grab it!
We’ve just finished a wonderful two-week stay in their beautiful home, and it was superb from start to finish.
The house is spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was just the two of us, but it would be absolutely perfect for a family as well. The toy room would be a dream for little ones.
The location is great too, with plenty of interesting and scenic places nearby. There’s a bus stop literally next door with routes to Uttoxeter, Derby, Burton-upon-Trent, and more. We also enjoyed many lovely 40-minute walks into Uttoxeter via public footpaths. Such a pretty stroll.
Katie was incredibly kind, and communication before and during our stay was excellent. We felt completely at ease and well looked after.
We highly recommend an exchange with Katie and her family. Thank you again for everything!
We could not have asked for better guests. Thank you so much for taking care of our home. It was a pleasure to host you both 😊
We have just had a fabulous four week exchange at Katie & Simon’s lovely, comfortable and spacious home. The communication with Katie was clear and seamless. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was a perfect base for exploring all the areas within easy driving distance including the Cotswolds, Stonehenge, the Lakes district, Wales, Chester and York.
It was such a pleasure to share our home with you. Thank you for a wonderful exchange 🙏
We have loved our time at Katies beautiful home, it is warm and inviting and a very large space for a family. The kitchen is to die for and really well equipped and the play room was a highlight for our kids.
The village itself is so nice and peaceful with plenty of places to walk and explore and a lovely little village pub for some great lunch & dinners.
Katie was our first exchange experience and we were so well looked after and picked up so much knowledge for us to utilise going forward - we feel so lucky and blessed for this experience and highly recommend this home for other swappers. So clean, lovely, homely and spacious. Thank you Katie!
Thank you 😊🙏 so glad you've had a positive 1st PLU experience. We loved our swap at Burril Lake too 😊
We had a wonderful stay in Katie's beautiful and spacious house near the Peak District. The house is very comfortable and very well located, and the log burner was much appreciated after long (rainy :-) walks, so cosy! Katie is the most kind and perfect host! Communication was great from the start. We are immensely grateful we could stay in Katie's home. Thanks again!
Thank you, we're glad we could help you out 😊🙏
We have just spent the most wonderful family Christmas at Katies gorgeous home in the Peak District. Katie went out of her way to ensure we had a perfect stay, even to the extent of putting up Xmas decs for us and taking in packages so I didn't have to carry them from Italy.
Our communication has been seamless from the outset and Katie stayed in touch during our stay even though she was on the other side of the world!
Their place is spacious and homely, filled with so much family love. Location is perfect and so peaceful, we enjoyed just looking out on the the fields and cozying up by the log fire. Peak district villages are on your doorstep and our drive through the Derbyshire Dales as the sun was setting was insanely beautiful.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your absolutely lovely home Katie. I do hope we can come back in the future :-)
Vanessa & Boys
It was a pleasure to host you and your family, thanks for taking care of our home 😊
We had a fabulous week at Katie's place. It was comfortable, spacious, well equipped and in a great location with so many things to see and do nearby. (Could have easily filled 2 weeks with activities).
Communication with Katie was a dream and we were so sad we couldn't meet up!
We would happily return here every time we visit the UK.
We've just returned from a three night stay in Katie and Simon's beautiful home, and have had the most wonderful time. Their home is very spacious, comfortable, and well-presented, with a fantastic kitchen equipped with everything you could ever need. The location was perfect, too, in a quiet village an easy drive from the Peak District. The maps and guide books Katie left for us to use were so helpful and we discovered some wonderful places for walking, wild swimming and ice cream! Throughout the whole process Katie was so generous and lovely to communicate with, and it felt really special to share local tips and family photos during our stay. Thank you for a fabulous three days! x
We had a lovely stay in Katie and Simon's home. They were very welcoming and helpful providing lots of information about the local areas and things that we could do as a family ranging ages from 74 to 2. There were 8 of us including a ) year old and 2 year old, and their house was perfect and accommodated everyone's needs.
Having young kids of their own, the house is well suited to youngsters with an amazing playroom space. We had everything we needed for a wonderful break surrounded by beautiful countryside, lovely villages and towns, and a huge choice of walks. Thank you Katie and Simon for the opportunity to stay in your fantastic home.
Everything was perfect! The house is lovely, very spacious with a nice back garden and excellent views! The house has all the ammenities you may need, and its location near Peak District / Alton Towers / many other places for nice walks is ideal.
Katie was very supportive and available at all times for any assistance - which was not required ;)
Everything went really well and our family of 5 had an excellent time!
Thank you Katie & family!
We have enjoyed a wonderful sim exchange in Katie's home. The house is absolutely stunning, big, bright, tidy, clean, and very beautiful decorated. The kitchen is just amazing, it is a dreamt kitchen 😍.
They left us lots of delicious treats and lots of leaflets of places near by, and what's on. They helps us prepare all our plans and recommend us in advance a lovely holiday camp for the kids (we where looking for it).
Prior to stay, during the stay and after the stay we can only say how amazing they are and how much we are looking forward to meeting them and how thankful we are we exchange with them.
There were so many things to do in the area, especially with children, we all had the best time.
We really recommend exchanging with them.
Aww, thank you for your feedback. We have absolutely loved exchanging with you guys! You're welcome back any time 💖
Katie's home is lovely, very spacious, clean and comfortable with beautiful countryside views from the back garden. You can easily get to great National Trust places to visit such as Sudbury Hall and Ilam Park. The kids really enjoyed Peak Wildlife Park half an hour away. We had one very rainy day so the kids went swimming at the water park in Derby and bowling which were both easy to get to. We didn't have time to explore all the places we wanted to!
Katie was great to communicate with and very helpful with any queries we had. Thanks to Katie and family, we had a great week!
Thank you for your feedback and for a lovely exchange 😊🙏
Thank you Katie & family for the wonderful exchange! We thoroughly enjoyed your hospitality, friendly communication, beautiful home, walks in the Peak district, the vast nature,... Your house is neat, nice, very comfortable, in short, everything you could wish for. Thank you for taking such good care of our home. You were fantastic exchangers!
We look back on our trip with great pleasure!
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We have loved our exchanging with you 🙏, you are welcome back any time! 😊
Katie’s home is simply beautiful. Large, spacious and has everything you could ever need and more. We particularly loved the luxurious showers! Felt like a real treat every day. This was the second time we stayed in Katie’s home. We visited Buxton for the day which was a nice trip. A lovely drive across the peaks to a lovely town. We enjoyed the children’s playground there with our two young children. Doveridge is a sweet village in a great location to explore the Peaks, Alton Towers and cities such as Manchester.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we loved having you to stay and very much enjoyed our exchange 😊
Katie made us feel very welcomed in their lovely family home in Doveridge.
We arrived in the evening and got settled very quickly and tucked into some yummy goodies left us. The kids loved exploring the toy room and I enjoyed my coffee each morning watching the sunrise from their lovely open plan family room.
Doveridge was an excellent base for exploring the nearby entertainment at Alton Towers and Bear Grylls. The village itself is great to walk around and see the beautiful yew tree at the church.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and would highly recommend.
Thank you Katie!
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We loved exchanging with you. Thank you x
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Katie's lovely home. Communicating with Katie before and during the stay was great and we were made to feel very welcome including thoughtful local gifts on arrival.
The house itself is gorgeous with everything you could need for a very comfortable stay.
The area around Katie's house is very picturesque and perfect for hiking and dog walking.
Thank you Katie and family for hosting us!
Thank you for your kind feedback, it has been our pleasure sharing our home with you and your family. 😊🙏
Katie’s home is beautiful, spacious and has everything you could ever need. We had a wonderful time looking after their gorgeous doggy Skip and visiting Alton Towers over the Christmas period. Katie’s home is in a lovely village which is great for walks. Katie’s home is large and our children loved the play room. Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking care of skippy for us during your stay. We are looking forward to our sim swap soon! 😊🙏
Communication with Katie was great before, during and after the exchange. She was extremely accommodating and even allowed me to invite my dear old friends. That was so special and I really appreciate it.
Her home is large, clean and very family-friendly. We felt very comfortable there and made great memories.
She has a folder with lots of recommendations, and was also always happy to help via Whats App.
Our highlights were the nearby corn maze, Sudbury Hall, and Biddulph Gardens.
We loved our exchange in Doveridge, I can highly recommend Katie's home.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. It was such a pleasure exchanging with you 😊🙏
Katie and Simons home is light and spacious. The garden looks over open fields to the rear . It is nicely decorated and has a beautiful large kitchen, with everything you could need.
The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and their children have their own playroom which was an added bonus for our grandson, when Katie kindly allowed him to join us for a couple of days.
The home is situated near to the Peak District and is at the end of a quiet village, but is in easy walking distance to a good pub and playfields with fitness equipment and children’s area.
Supermarkets in uttoxeter are a short drive away or can be reached from the village via a pathway .
The bad weather did make visiting some of the areas of natural beauty difficult. But we still managed to visit the plague village of Eyam, Bakewell where we had to buy the famous tart and pudding. Ashbourne was nice market town too.
With our grandson we also visited Crich tramway village. Sudbury and the NT. children’s museum and NT. Biddulph grange gardens.
We would highly recommend this home
Thank you for your feedback and thank you for being wonderful guests 😊🙏
Katie & Simon’s house was fantastic for our multi generation group of 8 including two infants. The huge kitchen/dining room, with adjacent living room was perfect for all of us to socialise, cook, eat and importantly for us keep a constant eye on the very young children. A bonus was the lovely play room which has obviously been planned with care and the kids, including the 11 year old, loved!
There is a pleasant garden at the rear of the house overlooking fields so private and quiet.
The kitchen was great to use with everything we needed, while the quality and design of the kitchen and bathrooms is excellent.
As we had infants, and the weather was unseasonably dull, we did not do as many outings as we wished to. However, Chatsworth House was a great family day out with something for all ages (the farm animals were a hit!), Alton Towers was fantastic and Ashbourne is a small town we’ll worth a visit.
There are nice local walks around farms and a pub on the main road which was nice.
Katie is such a nice, kind person and she went out of her way to ensure we were fully briefed on the house, where to visit etc.
There was much more to do and see but we did not have time and I highly recommend Katie and Simon as exchangers.
Thanks so much for making our stay so pleasant Katie!
Bert
Thank you 🙏 we are so glad the house was OK for you all.... Sorry we couldn't do anything about the weather 🤦♀️🤣
We have loved exchanging with you guys 🎉
Katie’s home is beautifully decorated, homely and has everything you need for a really enjoyable and comfortable stay. Katie gave some great suggestions in her house guide, and we really enjoyed exploring bits of the Peak District with a couple of walks to Thor’s cave and Thorpe cloud and a day trip to Bakewell. There are also some lovely National trust properties, our favourite of which was Sudbury Hall which has a fantastic children’s museum.
Communication was great and we were made to feel really welcome with some gifts and fresh flowers on our arrival. We really liked to peaceful rural location, and it’s great to be able to walk straight onto fields from their back garden.
Our children really loved discovering the toys in the playroom and we had trouble getting them to leave!
We would absolutely recommend a stay in Katie’s family home. It’s ideal for young families or anyone wanting an attractive rural location close to the Peak District.
Thank you 😊 we had such a lovely time swapping with you guys 🥰🙏
This is the second time we’ve stayed at Katie’s house and we loved it! The weather was wonderful and so we were able to make great use of their bbq and beautiful garden which looks out to endless fields! Katie recommended a place to go to paddle in the river in Doveridge, we took a picnic and the kids spent hours enjoying it, it was quiet, relaxing and such a wonderful place to be that we did exactly the same the next day too!! No need to go far or spend money it was perfect!
The homes is clean and really homely. We’ve found it such a nice house to come to and have settled in well and of course the children looooved the play room! We would thoroughly recommend exchanging with Katie and family.
Thank you.... Glad you had a lovely time 😊 we have loved swapping with you guys!! X
Wow! We loved staying at Katie and Simon's home. Really large and comfortable home. They were generous to trust us with staying there over a long period whilst they were in Australia and were happy for us to bring our kids, my parents and the dog which meant we could all stay together over the Easter weekend. We were so grateful for this as it meant everyone had their own room and we weren't on top of each other. Their home is in a great location for the peak district, and we has a wonderful family day at Alton Towers as well as several days spent swimming at the local pool and walking around the village. Great communication. Thanks so much for letting us stay!
Katie and Simons home is lovely! We were fortunate to do a non- sim exchange. The house is spacious, homely and has everything you need and is in such a nice setting. Communication prior, during and after our stay has been great. Thoroughly recommend exchanging!!
Thank you Anna for trusting us and being our first PLU experience. We are glad we could share our home with you and your family x
Well, when my cleaner came to clean my house after Katie and her beautiful family left she was very upset … as there was so little for her to do! Katie was very respectful of my home and stayed in contact with me throughout the whole time. While she was in my home and my family and l were enjoying her beautiful home in the Peak District. I would not hesitate to recommend Katie as a house guest or Katie’s home as an absolutely wonderful place to stay in a very interesting and rewarding location.. I would repeat the experience in a heartbeat❣️
We enjoy the privilege of being able to meet most of our guests because of our exchange arrangement, and meeting Katie and her family was another example of the positive benefits of home exchange. We were able to enjoy their company on a number of occasions, and share with them some of the things we enjoy about Brisbane. It truly was a pleasure to share our home and city with Katie, Simon, Hannah and Alissa. They were perfect guests, and left our apartment in pristine condition. Our only regret is that we will probably not see them again before they return home. They would certainly be welcome at any time if they did choose to come to Brisbane again. In the meantime, we are looking forward to staying in their home in a couple of months. We would very highly recommend them as exchange partners.
Katie and Simon were a dream to exchange with! We communicated easily during our entire exchange and they left our home as clean as a whistle (just as we found their home during our stay there). Anyone who exchanges with them should consider themselves very lucky :)
Katie you and your family were a pleasure to host and I think the month went as quickly for us as it did for you guys.
Thanks for your great feedback on our Villa, property and Rarotonga as well. We love our lifestyle here and really enjoy sharing it with others.
Please keep in touch as we would love to follow your further travels till you decide where to finally settle down ie. which part of Rarotonga!
Cheers - Brent & Eve
Katie and her family were awesome guests to have, I think they made the most of their time in Rarotonga, and we look forward to meeting them again when they make the move here to live in the near future.
Highly recommend as guests.
Katie and her family were such a dream to exhange with, left our home in an amazing condition and went above and beyond for us! Thank you Katie 😊
Katie and family were fantastic guests. Communication was super easy before and during the exchange. We returned to a perfectly clean and tidy home with some gorgeous gifts made during their stay in Iluka. Thanks for taking great care of our home and having a fun stay in Iluka, you're welcome back any time. Enjoy your incredible adventures.
Katie and her family stayed in our house for about 10 days while we were on a non-house swap holiday, and they were the perfect guests. Katie was a great communicator both before and during the swap (we used WhatsApp). She did a great job watering our plants and refilling the bird bath as requested.
We came home to a spotless house and some thoughtful treats.
I totally recommend Katie as a PLU swapper - you can be confident she will take great care of your place while you're gone.
Katie and family looked after our home beautifully during their stay; they were very respectful and appreciative, and we returned home to an immaculately clean and tidy space, along with a thank you card and a gift. They also very sweetly left me a birthday gift, having discovered it was my birthday during our exchange! Perfect guests - you are welcome to return any time x
They were the perfect guests to have, they were respectful and left the house spotless.
They even helped us with a little street cat that is in our patio. They were so nice.
They are welcomed to come back whenever they want.
Katie and family left our home exactly as they found it and had kindly washed most of the sheets and towels which was a great help. They'd visited with their dog but you wouldn't have known, it was all very clean and tidy when we got home. A lovely family to swap with and highly recommended.
Thank you, very friendly, neat guests. Everything was fine, friendly communication with the neighbors in our two-family house (who are my parents), distinguished and sweet exchangers! Thank you!
Katie and her family were so respectful of our home. Upon our return we couldn’t tell they had been (apart from the thoughtful gifts and card they left for us). They bought their dog and there wasn’t even a trace of him! Thank you for being such great exchange partners and if you ever want to swap again we would love to:
Katie and her family were very respectful in our home and we wouldn't have known anyone stayed - except for the wonderful gifts we returned home to.
Great communication before, during and after also!
Thank you x
Katie and her family were wonderful guests: polite, friendly and considerate. I can recommend an exchange with them.
Katie, Simon their children and Skippy the dog, were ideal guests.
We came home to a nice clean house and as we finally had sunshine katie had kindly washed the sheets and towels and they were hung on the line to dry.
A lovely card , flowers and chocolates and thank you picture from the girls greeted us on our arrival home.
We kept in contact during the swap and since getting back.. we would highly recommend this lovely family to anyone looking for a Peak District exchange
Katie Simon and their girls left our house in perfect condition. Thanks so much.
Katie’s family could not have been better guests. Communication was great from before the exchange and throughout. We really felt like friends by the end of the exchange. They were very respectful and considerate guests in our home, leaving it wonderfully clean and tidy with all the bed linen washed and on the line when we arrived home. They also left us some really generous and personalised gifts, not expected but very much appreciated. I would wholeheartedly recommend them as exchange partners and they’d be welcome to stay with us again.
Katie and family left our house clean and even put some loads of washing on for us. They were kind to leave us a lovely gift to return to too!
Katie, Simon and the girls were great guests. They were easy to communicate with and left the apartment spotless. We were happy to host them and look forward to visiting their home in the UK
It was an absolute pleasure to have Katie and her gorgeous family stay at our house. There was a slight wobbly when the house we were going to moved our stay out by one day but we managed to sleepover at our friends so as not to impact Katie.
And thank you for the thoughtful gifts which were very much enjoyed and not at all expected x happy onwards travels.
Cara and her family have taken good care of our home on a globe exchange. They were very understanding of a heating blip and helped us to solve the issue.
Communication with them was easy and we felt comfortable sharing our home with them. Thanks for being lovely guests 🙏
Shannon and Michael's home is nothing but amazing! From the moment you walk in and see the view, to the cool downs in the plunge pool or watching the lovely colours of the sunset, there is really no reason to leave the house! Hehe. But the surrounding area is also lovely to explore too, with so many beaches to choose from....either a short stroll down to Playa Hermosa beach, or short drives to Playa Buena or Playa Penca, or further afield to more amazing beaches!
We have enjoyed a snorkeling trip from Hermosa, horse riding from Brasilito, visiting Las Pumas rescue cenetre and Tio Leo's great tour /workshop on coffee, chocolate and empanadas.
Shannon and Michael are also wonderful hosts. We were lucky enough to be invited to their Thanksgiving celebration and we experienced our 1st Thanksgiving, which was such a treat.
We have a double globe stay and are looking forward to our final week here!
Caroline and Graham have been great guests on a long globe stay. They have taken good care of our home and were easy to communicate with. They left our home neat and tidy with all linen washed which was amazing. It was a pleasure to host them and we felt very happy to share our home with them. Thank you for being lovely guests and looking after our home!
Julia and Gerald were perfect guests in our home. They took great care of our place and even tinkered with a few things that needed fixing... A blown fuse, a detached bin lid etc. So we were very thankful!
We were very happy to have them stay and felt totally at ease sharing our home with them for a non-sim. We are very much looking forward to visiting their place in the future.
Thanks for taking great care of our home 🙏
It was a pleasure to return the swap for Dave and Sheree. They were just as fantastic as guests as they were as hosts. They took great care of our home, we even saw a pic of Sheree doing some gardening for us! Thank you!
We have absolutely loved getting to know them, we would happily host or swap with Dave and Sheree again, infact we plan to keep in touch and visit them again soon!
Such lovely guests and hosts 💕
Lisa and her family were lovely guests. They were easy to communicate with and we felt very comfortable having them to stay for a globe exchange.
They left our home neat and tidy and we would happily welcome them back again.
Samual and his family took great care of our home and left it very neat, tidy and clean. They helped us with some laundry before they left too for back to back exchanges.
They were super easy to communicate with, i loved hearing about their cycling adventures that they were on before heading to ours - although we haven't met them, they sound like an amazing family and I hope we do get to meet one day! We always felt at ease with them being in our home.
It was a pleasure to host them for a globe. Thanks for the cycling adventure inspiration and happy onward travels 😊
Joy and Lisa have seen super easy to communicate with throughout the simultaneous swap. They have taken good care of our home and we felt totally at ease swapping with them.
We have had some hilarious text message conversations throughout the stay, they have a great sense of energy and humour. It has been such a pleasure swapping with them and would certainly recommend swapping with them 😊🙏
Joy's home is a lovely spacious property with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A lovely open plan kitchen and living space, as well as a great outdoor covered area, so we had plenty of space for a family of 4. The pool also looked lovely, although we were there in winter so it was just a bit too chilly for us to use.
The location is beautiful, and winter was a perfect time for us to explore with consistent temps of 22degrees - we had lovely morning and evening walks... Both sunrise and sunsets were beautiful! As well as seeing kangaroos at the cemetery.
We visited tin can bay to feed dolphin, reef aquarium to feed green sea turtles, the historical village and museum was really fascinating, there were great play parks for kids around, we had lovely walks along the pier and Esplanade, as well as at Burrum Heads.
Of course though, our highlight was the whale watching tour!!
Being world schoolers, our girls also participated in local aerials classes and art classes, as well as a forest school, so there has been plenty of activities to keep them entertained 😊
There were also plenty of delicious ice creameries and fish and chip shops!
We have had a wonderful long exchange with Joy and it has been the perfect QLD winter 😊
If there was an award for the kindest PLU hosts, Dave and Sheree would certainly deserve it! From the moment we arrived, helping with our bags, making us a cup of tea on their lovely balcony and showing us around the neighborhood to cooking dinner for us on our 1st night.... Then throughout our stay sharing tips and ideas, coming to let our girls know when they were feeding the birds, having a picnic together at a beautiful spot near the city etc. They have been so lovely with our 6 and 8 year old, Sheree was great with being tested on their teddies names!
They have honestly made our stay in Brisbane such a wonderful one!
Not only that though, their apartment is a perfect space, especially the outdoor undercover patio that gets the beautiful morning sun. The girls loved exploring the little garden paths too.
It's so conveniently close for the city (5 min walk to the train line and 15mkns into the city) but you wouldn't know it sat out in their lovely garden! It's a perfect combination of ease and tranquility.
We've loved exploring Brisbane and the surrounds.... The cultural centre, museum, library, GOMA and QAG, a footy match, Bluey world, a morning walk up Mount Coot Tha and exploring the Glasshouse Mountains....we can all recommend! We are not usually huge city people, but Brisbane has certainly made us question that with its ease of getting around (50c train rides!) and lots to see yet not being hugely overcrowded and busy, with lovely green spaces both in and out of the city.
Swapping with Dave and Sheree is the perfect tri-factor.... Wonderful hosts, wonderful home, wonderful location 😊.... You should definitely see for yourselves!
Ali and Paul have been absolutely amazing guests. Despite not meeting them in person, you know when you get that feeling that someone is a little ray of sunshine... Well that's Ali 😊
They have taken wonderful care of our home on a globe swap, offering to mow the lawn and dead head the roses.
They have been very easy to communicate with, and have been so patient with a little alarm issue that cropped up.
We felt very confident that our home was being well looked after. We would absolutely have them to stay again at any point and highly recommend them as guests. Thank you so, so much both of you, 😊🙏
We loved every minute! Thank you for being such amazing hosts 😊🌼❤️
Having just finished a 3 week swap with Veronica on Hope Island, we can highly recommend their place 😊
Their home is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need for a peaceful stay.
Being in a gated community, it was very safe. There was access to a shared pool and tennis court /basketball hoop which made use of during our stay.
It was an easy walk to the supermarket, and a nice walk /jog down to Sanctuary Cove marina area.
It was a perfect base for us to explore the Gold Coast Hinterland... We loved Mount Tambourine and Springbrook National Park for some great walks with lovely views, we enjoyed learning about the glow worms at Cedar Creek, and a day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
We went koala spotting just a 15min drive away, and visited many fun parks with our girls as well as botanical gardens. There are so many activities to do in the area, we kept very busy!
The neighbours were also very lovely and we had some lovely chats and drinks with them.
Veronica and Peter are wonderful hosts, with a lovely home in a beautiful area. Thank you for a wonderful few weeks of swaps. 🙏🙏
This was our second half of our double globe exchange. And the 2nd half was just as amazing as the first half!!
Eve and Brent are wonderful hosts, and went out of their way make to sure our stay was perfect. Communication during our stay was very easy and they were always able to help if we ever needed.
We loved having Timmy, their dog, to hang out with... He'd come for walks down to the beach with us 😊
We explored lots of the island during our stay, but we definitely think that the beach at the bottom of the road was the best on the island for snorkeling - we saw turtles almost every aftetnoon! The water is so clear, it's just fabulous. We also loved taking the kayak down and going to late afternoon paddles.
And if you don't feel like getting sandy, a dip in the pool at the house is also a great way to cool off!
Their villa is spacious and has everything you need for a great island holiday, as well as plenty of lovely outdoor seating areas.
We are so grateful for this opportunity to visit Rarotonga, words do not do justice just how special the island is and Eve and Brent's place is the perfect location to enjoy it all! We would have stayed forever if we could 🤣 I can highly recommend a swap here if you're looking for a great, authentic island get away!
Thanks for an amazing stay Eve and Brent 🙏🙏
Veronica has been super easy to organise an exchange with and to communicate with.
They have taken wonderful care of our home, helping to reinvigorate a few house plants, linked up a new TV remote when the current one decided to stop working (sorry 🤦♀️) and even had to deal with a planned electrical cut off.
Veronica and Peter have been the perfect guests, leaving the house immaculate on departure. We are so grateful for having such a wonderful swap with them and would welcome them back as guests anytime.
Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our home ☺️🙏
We are half way through our double globe stay at Eve and Brent's garden villa on Rarotonga. And wow!!! What a beautiful island Rarotonga is! Eve and Brent's place is in a perfect location to explore the island. It's just a few minutes walk down to a beach with great snorkeling, where we have seen turtles the last few days.
There is also a lovely pool to enjoy if the wind is blowing across the island, a perfectly sheltered spot for windy days and a perfectly shady spot to cool off on the hot sunny days! The villa itself is spacious, with comfy beds and sofas, the kitchen has all you need for cooking meals at home. There is a lovely, private outdoor seating area to enjoy a relaxed island life, as well as spots around the pool area too. It is set back just off the main road that circles the island - so it is quiet, yet easy to access the rest of the island.
We have hired their car to explore the island further.
It is just wonderful on a sunny day, beach hopping your way around the island, with great marine life in the lagoon for snorkeling off the beach. There are loads of great places to eat (the hardest part is deciding which ones to try first!), and we love stopping at the little food stalls on the side of the road to pick up fruit, veg and local products. When it's been rainy, we have visited the Marine Discovery centre and the museums on the island, and we have turtle and island tours booked for the second half of our stay.
It is a little slice of paradise here and I can highly recommend swapping with Brent and Eve. They have been absolutely lovely to get to know during our stay - very welcoming and helpful with tips of where to go and what to do on the island.
Thank you so much for accepting our globes, we are having such a wonderful time 😊
We have had a month long swap with Erika and family. We kept in touch during our stay and it was lovely to hear what they were getting up to.
They have taken care of our home, helping with some washing before they left. We are happy that we have been the 1st step in their PLU journey 😊
Erika's home is in a perfect location for exploring The South Coast of NSW.
There is a spacious lounge room, comfortable beds and a nice shower/bathroom. Probably our favourite space of the house was the lovely deck, where we spent many hours relaxing, working (as we are homeschooling), watching and feeding the birds.
The girls enjoyed the trampoline in the garden and the swing.
Around a 10min walk you can get to.... A lovely bakery, a small convenience store, and a yummy fish n chip shop, as well as a good play park. We also did a lovely bush walk from the house to get to an Aboriginal rock shelter.
Ulladulla, a 10 min drive, has everything you need eg supermarkets etc.
Some of the highlights of our stay... loads of wonderful beaches to explore near by (particularly Mollymook beach and those at Bawley point), Mount Bushwalker walk, Pigeon House Mountain walk, feeding the Eagle Rays at Bendalong (definitely a must do!), Mogo Zoo (40min drive), fossil walk Ulladulla harbour, rock climbing at DUNN Lewis Centre when it was raining.
Erika was also very easy to communicate with during our stay. We had such a wonderful time 🙏
Kath was super easy to communicate with before, during and after their hospitality stay. We felt totally comfortable with her family staying in our home and of course, they took great care of home during their stay. We would happily welcome them back anytime. 😊
We have just had such a lovely globe exchange at Deby and Al's place in Iluka. Their home is such a fun and quirky place - you can spend a few hours looking at all the cool art and collectables!
It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, a spacious lounge and dining area, comfy beds, a good shower (inside and outside.... Which was great coming back from the beach!). Outside is also beautiful, we spent many hours on the deck, in the shade of the lovely mango tree. The girls loved playing on the rope swings off the deck.
Iluka itself is a lovely small town, with a supearlet, cafes, bakery, butcher etc. We enjoyed the monthly Sunday market, as well as the farmers market in Yamba. We had delicious Japanese at Chez Basho, a lovely spot on the water! And had a good meal at the new pub too.
Everyone in Iluka is so friendly and we were made to feel very welcome for our longer stay. The girls did workshops with local artists, join a bushschool, attended swimming lesson in Yamba and a gymnastic class in Maclean.
The beaches in the area are lovely, we had lots of nice morning walks at various beaches (spotting kangaroos), enjoyed swimming and rock pooling at the Bluff and cool off dips at Moriaty's, as well as enjoyed evening walks around the marina and along the breakwall.
Communication with Deb has been easy throughout and she kindly left a box of craft for the girls to collage... Which was a greatly appreciated by us and the girls... Entertaining them whilst we were able to unpack on arrival ☺️💖
Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
We have just finished such a wonderful globe stay at Janet and Margaret's. Their home is absolutely wonderful and I can't describe how lovely their deck is, it is just like you are in a tree top house! We loved watching all the birds come to the bird bath and just relaxing looking out across the trees. It's just fantastic!
The rest of the home is just as lovely too, with comfy beds, lovely areas to relax and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed BBQs on the deck each evening.
Janet kindly let us use their boogie board and sunshade so we had many lovely trips to the various beaches nearby. As we are Worldschooling, we also visited the Central Coast Marine Discovery centre which was great, as well as the Pelican talk at the Entrance. We did some lovely bush walks in Boudi National Park too. There is lots to do in the area for any sort of weather 😊
The shops are near by and the fish and chips at Avoca were delicious!
We have had the best time, thank you so much!! We can highly recommend a swap with Janet and Margaret 💖
Vanessa and her family have been lovely to get to know prior to their globe exchange with us. Communication has always been easy before during and after. They have taken great care of our home and even helped with packing away our Christmas decorations as we wouldn't be back to do it for the rest of the year!
They kept in touch regularly throughout the stay and we felt very comfortable that our home was being well looked after. Vanessa sent photos through at the end of stay to show a lovely clean and tidy house with some laundry also having been done.
Thank you so much for being such lovely guests 🙏😊 we would welcome you back anytime. 💖
Emma and her family stayed for a globe and took good care of our home. Communication was always easy with Emma and they were very generous with the treats left for us. Although we missed meeting them in person, they seem like a lovely family 😊
Communication with Cathy before, during and after our stay was super easy. We felt very much at ease knowing they would take great care of our home after our video call. We came back to a tidy home, and they had kindly done some loads of washing. We would happily exchange with Cathy and her family again x
We had a wonderful long weekend at Cathy and Tony's beautiful home. It is beautifully styled and has such a lovely homely feel. The garden is also beautiful, with lots of lovely areas to sit and relax. Cathy kindly left some marshmallows for our girls to toast on the fire pit, which was such a treat!
Their home was perfectly located for us to visit family, but we also explored lots of beautiful areas near by such as Shere and Abinger. There are lovely walks in the Surrey Hills within easy access, and also an easy walk to Soke Park and gardens. The house is located on a quiet street and our girls also loved that there was a play park just across the road. Cathy kindly let us bring our dog and so access to lots of lovely areas for nice walks was a real bonus! We had such a wonderful few days, thank you 🙏😊
Aww, thank you for the lovely feedback Katie! It was an absolute pleasure having you to stay, and a treat to arrive back to such an immaculate home! Thank you for a fantastic exchange x
Joel, Jan and their families were lovely guests in our home. They took great care of our place (even kindly sorting out a bin issue from back to back exchanges and sorted out a load of washing 🙏).
Communication with them was very easy, they were respectful guests and we would happily host them again. Thank you for a great non-sim exchange 😊🙏
Jamie and his family took great care of our home during their stay. Communication with Jamie was also easy. We would happily have Jamie and his family back any time 😊 thank you for our lovely Spanish gifts also. We can't wait to visit in Barcelona 😊
Ana and her family took great care of our home. The communication before and during the stay meant we felt like we could totally trust them in our home. They were true 'people like us' as we noticed we had the same cushion covers and same dishwasher 🤣
They left our home in a great condition, and even popped on a wash of towels for us as we were on back to back exchanges.
I would 100% swap with Ana and her family again 😊🙏 thank you Ana for taking care of our home x
Ana and her family are absolutely wonderful to exchange with. Their home in Cuenca is lovely. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The beds are super comfy, the shower is great, the kitchen is well equipped and there were plenty of toys to keep the kids entertained.
The highlight, though, is definitely the outside area. A beautiful pagola for a shaded seating area and a pool that kept the kids entertained for hours a day! We had a very warm week with temps of 39 degrees during the day, so to have the delightful outside area with pool to keep us cool was wonderful!
We did manage to venture out in the mornings before it warmed up too much.... We had a lovely time visiting the old town of Cuenca (easily accessible from the apartment), we visited the Science and dinosaur museums (great for the kids!). We also explored some of the Beautiful scenery around Cuenca too - the gorges are so dramatic and the water a beautiful colour.
Ana's home is also close to lots of lovely restaurants and tapas bars (and all the staff were alway very friendly and put up with my broken Spanish!). The welcome book had lots of recommendations for nice food places, and all of the ones we chose were so delicious!... We just needed more time to try them all 😁
Communication with Ana has been super easy before and during our stay. The home manual had plenty of ideas for outings / trips etc. And we were welcomed with some thoughtful gifts from the area 🥰
Our stay was just perfect 💖 thank you so much Ana for a wonderful swap, we hope we get to meet you and your family in person one day 💖
Hannah and her family have taken great care of our home. We have come home to a clean and tidy house with a load of washing done too 🙏
We can definitely recommend Hannah and her family as guests, and would welcome them back any time 😊🙏
Hannah's home is in a great location to explore the Gower peninsula and the surrounding area.
It is on a quiet street and has a lovely back garden (the girls really enjoyed the trampoline!) and patio to enjoy the sunshine on the swinging chair. The home itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay; it has a spacious lounge room to relax, a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and nicely fitted bathrooms. The view from the office is lovely looking over Swansea Bay to the Mumbles.
There is a great Country park nearby for lovely dog walks and good kids play area (we spent many hours here over the course of the week!). We also enjoyed visiting the Gower Heritage Centre, pedaloes on the pond, beach walks and a trips into Swansea for Plantasia and the Waterfront museum when the weather wasn't playing ball.
Hannah has been great to communicate with and was always super helpful before and during our stay. Thank you for a lovely half term swap, we've had a fab time!
Katrijn and her family were wonderful to exchange with. Communication was easy, Katrijn and her family were very friendly and they took great care of our home. They left our place clean and tidy and we would happily exchange with them again.
Katrijn's home is such a lovely space. It is spacious, comfortable and very child friendly. Our girls loved the play area, as well as playing in garden and the decked area is a lovely peaceful space to relax. The house is in a quite neighbourhood that has everything you need for a comfortable and easy stay.
We LOVED exploring Ghent (such a child friendly and interesting city) , we took a trip to the Netherlands to cycle around windmills(one of the highlights of our trip), we explored the museums in Brugge and spent an afternoon in Antwerp.
We spent some lovely evenings cycling around the neighbourhood, within a few minutes you are out into lovely countryside.
Katrijn's house is in a great location for exploring Belgium and beyond. They were fantastic hosts, communication was easy and we felt very comfortable exchanging with them. We would 100% recommend an exchange with Katrijn and her family.
Jade and her family took great care of our home, and fish!
We came back to a clean and tidy house.
Jade was super easy to communicate with and we felt very comfortable swapping with them. We would happily welcome them back as guests any time 😊
We have just spent a long weekend at Jade's super kid friendly home. It is located in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Bristol.
You walk in to a playroom full of fantastic toys, the girls barely got 2 steps into the house before they were sat down playing with the Bluey set, and didn't move for about an hour!
There is also a lovely cosy sitting room for adults to relax in (which we enjoyed plenty of whilst the girls played with lots of toys) 😁
Jade's home has everything you need for a comfortable stay....the jungle kids rooms with a cubby was also a real hit too!
We took a nice walk from the house down to Magpie Bottom where the girls and the dog enjoyed playing in the stream.
We also had a lovely, albeit slightly boggy (thanks English winter!), walk at Overs court Wood which was great for a run around for both kids and dog.
We had a lovely meal out at the Forge and Fern (about a 10min drive away), and had a fun afternoon at Wake the Tiger (a very quirky and interesting place to visit with kids!).
Jade was very kind in letting us bring Skippy along with us for the weekend, and he enjoyed all the new smells of a new neighbourhood.
For anyone with young families, we would highly recommend Jade's house for an exchange 😁
Leah and her family were wonderful guests. Leah was easy to communicate with before and during our stay. They took great care of our home during their stay, you wouldn't even have noticed they had been!!
We would be happy to welcome them back any time and can highly recommend them as guests 😊🙏
We wish you all the best for your 2024 travel plans x
Leah's home is as beautiful as it looks on the photos. It isperfectly renovated to mix traditional cottage with modern and spacious living areas.
It has a large kitchen diner, perfect for family meals. The spacious lounge was perfect for family games of charades, the snug was perfect for chilly winter evenings with the log burner and lovely toys for the girls to play with.
Upstairs is warm and cozy, yet generously sized bedrooms and nicely fitted bathroom and ensuite.
We had rather miserable weather so didn't get a chance to explore the lovely garden that wraps around 2 sides of the house. But we did pop out to meet the chickens 😊
We had a great time just relaxing at Leah's home after the mad Christmas rush!
There are nice walks to explore around the village, that take you out to nice open countryside. We also had a wet and windy walk up Beacon Hill (about 10min drive), and despite the weather, there were lovely 360degreee views of the area at the top.
We had a lovely time at The Living Rainforest, about a 25min drive, where we found lots of tropical animals, as well as a delicious lunch and cake at the Tea Shop by the canal in Newbury.
We felt straight at home in Leah's welcoming home, some lovely welcome treats and gifts were left for us on arrival.
We are very grateful for a lovely exchange to kick start 2024 😊🙏
Deb and her family were great guests at our home. Deb was very easy to communicate with both before and during the stay. She took great care of our home and was kind enough to pop some loads of washing on for us, which was a huge help for us with a back to back exchange. They left our house in a neat and tidy condition, along with some thoughtful thanknyou gifts for us and our children.
We would certainly recommend Deb and her family as guests and would welcome them back anytime. 😊
Jade and her family were wonderful guests at our home whilst we were away. They kindly offered to look after our dog Skippy, whilst we were away and so that they could also visit cbbies land at Alton Towers.
We had daily doggy updates whilst we were away which was lovely.
Jade and her family took great care of home also, and we were so thankful of a load of washing being done on our return home.
Thanks sooooo much for taking care of our doggo and our home 💖 we look forward to doing our sim exchange with you next year 😊
WOW! Piovere is a little slice of Italian heaven!! Sarah's aparentment is in a fantastic location with a lovely view across Lake Garda from the balcony. The apartment itself has everything you need for a cosy stay, with a lovely large balcony that wraps around, perfect for early morning cups of tea or relaxing evenings sipping local wine.
Since the weather was so warm (over 35 each day), we changed a lot of our 'let's explore' plans, to let's go and keep cool at the lake beach. We found a fantastic spot, recommended by sarah, to relax and swim that was very kid friendly. We also took a morning walk to the waterfall near by, ate at the local pizzarias (some of the most delicious pizza and gnocchi I have tasted!). The girls loved adding to the painted rock collection in the garden too
Piovere itself is a beautiful, quaint Italian village perched high on hill above Lake garda.... it is very peaceful and friendly.
Sarah was very helpful as a host, communication was super easy, and gave lots of tips of what to do and where to eat. Can not recommend a stay here highly enough, I would be back in a heart beat!! We can't wait to visit the area again 🎉
Sarah was a lovely guest - we kept in touch during the swap, exchanging info. Sarah and her family took great care of our home and we're even able to get some laundry through before they left. Would happily offer our home to Sarah and her family any time.
Christine's home guide is very thorough and has lots of great recommendations to explore in the local area.
Communication before, during and after was very easy with Christine.
And the best part..... They took fantastic care of our home going above and beyond to ensure that our home left immaculate on their departure!! I'd love Christine to come and visit every week 😂😂..... Could not recommend better guests..... Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Christine and Colin's home is set in a lovely village, and has a real 'home from home' feeling. Their home has everything you could possibly need, with quaint, quiet and private garden.
There was a lovely welcome note and home made gifts when we arrived. Christine had also gone out of her way to provide toys for our girls to play with during our stay which our girls thoroughly enjoyed.
Their conservatory is a peaceful place to spend evenings, and the girls also really enjoyed the cucumbers from Christine's Green House.
We had a lovely time exploring Ickworth NT and Bury St edmunds. The girls particularly enjoyed West Stow Country Park and Oasis Camel park. We also took a day trip to Cambridge and to the beach at Southwold (when the sun finally shone 😊).
We thoroughly enjoyed the 'dog walks' locally around the village and exploring the river, surrounding fields and woodland for black berry picking.
There is so much to see and do in the area, and Christine's house is a lovely spot to explore from. Christine is a wonderful host, ensuring every little detail is provided for a successful stay. We would highly recommend visiting /swapping and are so thankful to have had this opportunity.
Communication with Bert was easy and he was able to answer any questions we had during our stay.
Berts house is beautifully presented and very stylish, with everything you could need for a stay. The garden area is lovely and private. The location is great.... With a 5min walk down to Roath Park (great for an early morning run, play at the park with kids, pedalo on the lake or just generally a lovely spot for relaxing).
The house is close to the city, as well as lovely countryside.
We visited Caerphilly Castle (25mins drive) which is the largest Castle in Wales and very impressive. We also did a lovely walk from the house to Nant Fawr woods and the reservoir. The kids loved picking blackberries along the way and the play park at the end, whilst the dog loved paddling in the stream - a great walk that ticks all boxes for the family!
We also visited the beach, ST fagans national museum (the kids loved the old fashioned school!), and ate at SaraZtro as recommended by Bert!
A fab house, in a great location, with lots to do for everyone in the family within close proximity! Would highly recommend a stay here 😊
Sarah and her family left our home in great condition and had placed towels out on the line to dry for us.
We would happily have Sarah and her family to stay in our home any time.
Sarah's house is beautifully presented, and in a great location to explore Bath and the surrounding area.
Our girls had a great time exploring the playroom.... Often needing a fair bit of persuading to leave for our adventures!
We walked to the park, had a day going around Bath on the hop on /hop off bus. Explored Dyrham National Trust property, Castle Combe village and Westonbirt Arboretum.
Sarah's home is the perfect mix of ease of city life (there are a few shops and cafes in easy walking distance), yet only being a short distance drive from lovely countryside.
The home itself is beautiful, and we felt a real 'home from home' feel.
Communication with Sarah was super easy, and she offered tips and advice for our stay.
So very grateful for a wonderful stay here! 😊🙏
As last time, Anna and her family were ideal guests. They left the place in great condition and communicated any issues they came across for us.
We would always be happy welcoming Anna and her family back to our home.
Anna's home is beautifully presented and at the end of a quiet street, with a lovely garden.
Our girls loved exploring the toys, and there was space for them to play and be entertained whilst us parents could relax! We had fabulous weather so enjoyed an afternoon soaking up the sun in the garden... Infact each day we found it hard to get the girls to leave the toys and come and explore with us 😂
We only had a short stay, but loved our day out at the Cotswolds Wildlife park (there is sooo much there to keep kids entertained) , followed by a lovely pub meal in Burford, and we explored explored some National Trust places in the area too.
Communication with Anna was easy, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend exchanging with Anna and her family 😊🙏
Thanks for such lovely feedback Katie, so pleased you had a lovely few days as did we!!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Joel and Jans in Sydney. Their apartment is absolutely fantastic... It is beautifully presented, (with mesmerising artwork), in a wonderful location.
Communication with Joel was super easy and he made us feel very welcome.
The apartment is a perfect location for exploring Sydney.... From early morning walks along blackwattle bay, to day trips on the ferry into the city to watching the city skyline light up from the balcony in the evening....it has great things to offer throughout all of the day! We were sooo grateful to be able to use this as a base to visit our family and friends.
It was the perfect location for an easy mix of of touristy city exploration as well as exploring the less touristy yet still lovely areas of Sydney.
My favourite part was early morning exercise along black wattle bay which is literally the other side of the road to the apartment, but our kids also loved catching the ferry (a 2min walk), as well as the light rail (6min walk) into the city. We also enjoyed exploring all the parks nearby, walking up to the Tramsheds for brunch.... The list is endless.... It really is a fab spot!! And Joel is an excellent host 😊 we looking forward to welcoming you to our home in the UK in the future...... Thanks so much again for making our first experiences of home exchanging so great!!
We have just had a fabulous week at Kirsty's wonderful home! As soon as you walk through the gates you just have to say 'wow'... it has a wonderful view across the valley to the ocean and we loved watching a few storms roll in over the Northern Beaches.
The house itself is beautifully presented, clean and spacious.... Not to mention the lovely outdoor decks and of course swimming pool! It is also a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise (if you end up being jetlagged whilst there like us 😂). There was plenty of space for our kids to play, both inside and outside.
It provided such a wonderful base for us to explore, and although you are close to the Manly and city, it also feels very secluded as you look over bushland from the back of the house.
We did some lovely walks in Ku-ring-gai NP, Manly Dam and Shelley Beach. We also went up to Palm Beach and took the Patonga ferry across for lunch, getting beautiful views of Pitwater and visited smaller beaches along the north shore harbour such as Clontarf.
Kirsty's home is such a great place for families to visit.... Lots to do, yet space to just relax, close to shops, amenities and city yet set back enough to get away from it all and enjoy the serenity.
Kirsty was great to communicate with and provided details of the house etc and was there to answer questions if and when we needed.
We will be forever grateful for being able to stay here whilst we visited family and friends 🙏🙏 Thank you so much Kirsty and your family x
Ali and her family took great care of home whilst we were away.
Communication before, during and after was excellent and really felt like our home was being taken care of.
We would highly recommend Ali and her family as guests and would welcome them back any time 😊
Thanks for your generosity Katie! I hope your journey home went to plan and your luggage was able to come too?
Anna and her family stayed at our house during October half term. All communication with Anna was very easy and we feel very lucky to have had such a lovely family come and stay as our first PLU experience. They left the house immaculate and have been very generous. We would happily host Anna and her family any time 😊🙏
