Neighbourhood
We live in a new subdivision on the edge of Blenheim. We have access to the Taylor River Reserve, with paths leading into the town centre and out to the Wither Hills Farm Park. There is a daycare centre in the neighbourhood adjacent to, but separate from, a small playground to keep the kids busy.
The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, a world-class museum, is around 15 mins walk and has a café on site. There's a classic car museum across the road from there too.
The Burleigh Pie Shop is around 10mins walk from the house and sells gourmet pies, sandwiches, cakes and coffee. We take all of our visitors there!
There are lots of wineries, restaurants, and and shopping areas within 10mins drive.
Nearest airport
Blenheim (also known as Marlborough or Woodbourne) Airport is 8km from our house and has direct flights to Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch international airports as well as Palmerston North and Paraparaumu domestic airports.
Getting Around
Blenheim is very flat and has wide streets ideal for cycling. We're also a few minutes from the Taylor River path, a shared path that goes all the way to the town centre with stunning views of the mountains.
Having said that, most people drive everywhere. There is a wide variety of supermarkets and large shopping outlets around town all within 10 minutes drive.
