General overview
Our home is 4 houses from Portuguese Beach in Bodega Bay , California, in a quaint neighborhood called Sereno Del Mar. Our back deck overlooks the Pacific Ocean and a 600 acre farm with cows that visit us most mornings. We are driving distance to great tourist spots that include, San Francisco, Napa, the redwoods, Dillon beach, Marin , and the Russian River. There are often deer or other wildlife in the yard and a path for the neighborhood just across highway 1 to get down to the beach. It’s fun to watch the Alfred Hitchcock movie, “The birds” before visiting Bodega Bay, as it was filmed here. We do ask for a $250 cleaning fee if we are not exchanging homes and are only accepting a globe. We will waive the cleaning fee for non-simultaneous or simultaneous exchanges to cover the cleaning after our stay.
The space
There are two bedrooms with comfy cal king beds and two full bathrooms. There is a queen Murphy bed in the game room and a queen pullout sofa bed in the family room. There is a large kitchen with everything you need to cook everyday. There is a large dining room table that seats 8. The family room is tastefully decorated with 2 large leather sofas and a large screen TV with Roku and cable tv. There is an upstairs game room for the kids with a dart board, shuffle board, wii with tv, lots of games and even a sit down arcade game with ms Pac-Man and other games. Kids will spend many hours up there while you drink wine downstairs. There is a ping pong table in the garage for great family fun. Out on the back deck, there is a hot tub where you can enjoy a view of the farm and ocean.
Guest access
There are two floors, but the main living space is on the first floor with wheelchair access. The only room upstairs is the game room.
Notes
Our house, which we call “The Lodge” is a tranquil home on 1/2 acre of land, where you get the beach and farm feel in one location. You can venture into San Francisco, or other smaller towns like Sebastopol, Jenner, Napa or Russian River, or just stay put and enjoy the quiet. We leave crab pots in the garage to allow you to go catch and cook your own crabs for dinner. There is a public pier in Bodega Bay, where you can fish without a fishing license.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is a quiet and peaceful one. It is directly across from Portuguese Beach in Bodega Bay and next to a 600 acre active farm. The houses here are on 1/2 acre parcels and have a country/beach feel. There is a wonderful loop walk around our house/ neighborhood and onto highway one that I walk with my dog when I’m there. There are so many great hikes within a couple miles of our house.
Getting to my home
San Francisco airport is the closest international airport to fly into. The drive from San Francisco can be 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic.

Getting around
You will need a car to get around town, but not to the beach. You can walk to Portuguese Beach from our home.
