Neighbourhood
We live on the west edge of Cole Valley - two blocks from Golden Gate Park, near the UCSF Parnassus campus. Great dining, museums, and outdoor activities are within walking distance, and you can get everywhere else easily with bus or light rail.
Some of our favorite places to walk from the house include:
- Golden Gate Park
- de Young Museum
- California Academy of Sciences Museum
- San Francisco Botanical Garden
- Japanese Tea Garden
- Conservatory of Flowers
- Koret Playground (with a classic carousel built in 1914)
- Goldman Tennis Center
- Hike in the Mount Sutro Open Space, with one trail starting just across the street.
- Haight Ashbury
For restaurants, we frequently walk to Irving Street, Cole Street, or Haight Ashbury. Every cuisine you can imagine is within walking distance, and we can give recommendations based on your tastes.
Nearest airport
SFO - 16 miles
Getting Around
The N Muni light rail line is 1 block from our house, with a private stairway going from the back of the house down to the Muni stop. The N Muni goes west to Irving Street and Ocean Beach, or east toward Castro, Civic Center, Union Square, and the Ferry Building. The N Muni also connects with BART and all other Muni lines.
There are many nearby bus lines that can take you anywhere in the City.
You do not need a car to get around San Francisco from our house.
