Neighbourhood
There is a corner shop about 100m away. The closest supermarket is about 1km away, near the centre of the village, where there is also a café, bakery, stationer's and an ATM.
There is a lovely park close by (800m away) with a big playground and a public swimming pool open in the summer.
Nearest airport
Girona airport is 30 minutes away. Barcelona airport (El Prat) is 1 hour away. There is a bus service from both airports to the centre of the village.
Getting around
You can go hiking or book horseback riding tours a few hundred metres behind our home, or visit an adventure park which features football golf, escape games, treetop adventures, quad tours and more.
The beach is 2km away. There you can rent equipment for water sports and paragliding or spend time in the floating aquatic park if you want. Santa Susanna is a major seaside resort full of big hotels close to the beach. This is where the train to Barcelona stops. The village itself, where we live, is further inland and there are fields in between, so it is very quiet and peaceful here.

The sand on the beach in Santa Susanna and along most of the Costa Brava is coarse sand, not fine.
Our home is a good base to explore the surrounding area. You will need a car.
Places to visit on the Costa Brava:
-Lloret de Mar (20 min)
-Tossa de Mar (40 min), a medieval village with a castle overlooking the sea. During the summer there is a regular boat service to Tossa de Mar.
-Begur (1h15min), another, very pretty, medieval town.
-L'Estartit (1h15min), where you can take a boat to the Illes Medes for scuba diving.
-Empuriabrava (1h15min), residential marina with over 24km of canals
-Aiguamolls de l'Empordà (1h15min), a natural park full of marshes, a birdwatcher's paradise
-Cadaqués (1h40min) whitewashed fishing village close to Dali's summer home.
Girona is 30 minutes away by car. Figueres, home to the Dali museum, is an hour away. Besalú, a medieval town famous for its bridge, is also an hour away. Olot, capital of the volcanic region of La Garrotxa (inactive volcanoes), is 1h15 min away.
Barcelona is 50 minutes away by car. You can also take a bus from the bus stop in the village. Montserrat is 1h15min away. Montmeló, home to the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix, is 45min away.
The Pyrenees are 2h away.
PortAventura theme park is 2h away.
(Tip: for a family of four, it's often cheaper to stay at one of their hotels for one night, with access to the park on two days, than to buy entrance tickets for two days. And it's not much more expensive than buying tickets for one day)
