Neighbourhood

Beach, forest and dunes and lively village with many nice shops and restaurants. On Saturdays there is a lively market in the village center. In the summer there is a weekly art market. Center within walking distance 10 min. The well-known historic cheese town of Alkmaar is 5 km away. From there you can reach the center of Amsterdam in 35 minutes by train. Parking is available near the train station.

Getting Around

The center of Bergen can be reached from our house in 5 minutes by foot. Buses depart regularly from the center to Alkmaar. There is good parking at Alkmaar station. In the summer, a bus runs from Bergen to the seaside resort of Bergen aan Zee. In the village there are two bicycle rental companies. The beautiful bike ride to the beach takes about 20 minutes.

My husband Eric and I met when we studied medicine in Amsterdam in 1970. So I have been retired for quite some time now. Our two sons have a total of six children between 3 years and 22 years old. We looked after all of them when they were young and still do now., so the house is set up for children. And also the garden childproof and fenced. We love gardening, cycling, playing tennis and Eric likes to run. We have traveled a lot but also enjoy the environment where we live. For our holidays we are mainly looking for cycling areas or city trips.
