Neighbourhood
The house is situated in a quiet, surburban area called Mosede. At the end of the road there is a wonderful pond and green space with ducks who love to be fed and then just beyond that there is a supermarket. There are a lot of green spaces within walking distance as well as excellent playgrounds and the beach can be reached by foot in about 18 minutes. Mosede harbour is particularly stunning and boasts several excellent restuarants, bars and a cafe and is a lovely place to be in the summer months. Within a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute car ride these is the local shopping centre with most of the basics covered and also the local swimming pool which is wonderful on a rainy day!
Further afield there are many great places to visit, with Copenhagen being the most famous! The E line train takes just under 30 minutes in to Central Station from us so we are a great base for exploring the city. A few of our favourute spaces include the Botanical Gardens, Frederiksberg Have, The National HIstory Museum and Kødbyn (The meat packing district!) Both my husband and I love to eat out so we can give you plenty of reccomenations, epecially when it comes to the best bakeries in town. Of course Nydhavn and Strøget (the main shopping street) are always high up on list of must see things!
There is lots do to with children including the Zoo, the aquarium (a 20 minute drive from us), The Experimentarium and some really excellent libraries with play spaces.
Other places that can be acsessed easily by car from us are Arken Museum and Art Gallery, and the 2 towns of Køge and Roskilde, where you will find a really fantastic Viking Ship Museum. There are lots of little farms and cozy garden centres nearby so we will leave a list in the house of all the places we love to see!
Nearest airport
Copenhagen Airport is 25 minutes away by car
Getting around
We have 2 bikes and a bike trailer which you are welcome to borrow. The local bus runs to the train staion every 20 minutes and the trains run into Copenhagen every 10 minutes. You can walk to the local supermarket in 5 minutes or to the train station (with more supermarkets) in about 17 minutes.

We are a family of four, I am a pre-school teacher, my husband works in shipping and we have 2 daughters aged 2 and 4. I’m originally from London but have lived all over the world, including Thailand where I met my Danish husband. We moved to Denmark just over 2 years ago and very much enjoying the lifestyle on offer here! We love travel, meeting new people, wine and good food and are excited to start our exchanging life!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community.
