Neighbourhood

The Sunshine Coast in general has become ever-popular with tourists and the like. Kawana island is a quiet suburban area with easy access to many key tourism hotspots including Mooloolaba Esplanade, local beaches, plenty of cafes, coffee, bakeries, fruit shops, etc. The property is in close proximity to the big pineapple, wineries and breweries, and other local attractions such as the ginger factory. 

Malaney and the hinterland attractions are fabulous for a self drive, especially on a cooler day or a non-beach day.

The attractions would be most easily accessible using your own vehicle, a rental or we could consider a car-swap.. 

Please drive responsibly, there are plenty of winding roads!

Nearest airport

Sunshine Coast Airport is 20 minutes drive, Brisbane International Airport is one hour drive. There are shuttle services from Brisbane Airport, and readily available taxis and Ubers from Sunshine Coast Airport.

Getting Around

We have plenty of walking/cycling tracks, easily accessing local cafes, fruit shed, butcher, bottle shop, chemist, local restaurants. There is also a shopping world with everything including major supermarkets and retail outlets, 10 minute drive from the house, also accessible by public bus.

If we’re hosting, we would love to show you and your traveling party around. We are very proud of the area we live in, with many fab restaurants, cafes, scenic drives on wet or cooler days, and beautiful scenery including rainforests and waterfalls in the hinterland. We have family in the area that can also assistant and support during your stay if we are on an exchange elsewhere.
