Neighbourhood
We live on a quiet country road just at the edge of the city - it’s the best of both worlds. Our property is 2 acres. At the end of the road is a 300 acre nature park with hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails. It is a five minute drive and 15 minute bike ride to a large grocery store, shops and restaurants. We have wonderful friendly neighbors, however our house has 2 acres of property so we also have lots of space and privacy. There are nearby playgrounds you can walk to from our house and rivers and lakes to kayak and swim in close by.
Getting to my home
From PDX airport it is a 25 minute drive to our house. You can rent a car or take Lyft/Uber. There is a rapid bus transit stop called Salmon Creek Park and ride that is a five minute drive or a 15 minute bike ride from our house. You can take the bus from there into downtown Portland (40 minutes). There is also an Amtrak train station in Portland and Vancouver.

Getting around
It is a five minute drive or a 15 minute bike ride to get to a large grocery store, shops and restaurants. It is a 15-25 minute drive or 20-40 minute bus ride to get into downtown Portland or Vancouver to enjoy many more walkable neighborhoods with restaurants and shops! It is also a short drive to many beautiful lakes and rivers, and a 1-2 Hour drive to the Oregon coast/Pacific Ocean, to mountains/Mount Hood and the Columbia river gorge. Although we are on a country road we are right at the edge of the city so there are sidewalks and bike lanes easily accessible from our house. We will be happy to offer ideas for activities during your stay.
