What a lovely experience staying with Jamie, Tim and Alfie (fur baby kitty) in East Falls.
A great location to explore all that Philly has to offer. Just a couple of blocks to the train.
Jamie and Tim are newer to PLU but looking forward to making connections.
We loved exchanging stories and learning so much about Philly and the area.
Ken and I highly recommend connecting with this wonderful couple.
(Don’t forget to get the best cheesesteak at Delassandro’s)!
We loved hosting Jamie and Tim - they were the perfect guests and even treated us to Philly Cheesesteaks one night and some fabulous baked cookie cakes. So good to meet new friends and I hope we have the chance to visit them in the future!
Jamie and her partner took great care with both our house and our dog. We are really please we were able to host them for couple of days . we would have loved to spend more time together but were travelling at the same time. we would highly recommend Jamie and her partner if you are considering swapping with them. Thanks for staying with us Jamie
Jamie and Tim were an absolute delight to host, they are the friendliest of people and incredibly respectful of our busy home lives - our young boys had an absolutely wonderful time playing games and chatting with them, Tim sketched them an amazing picture of their favourite super hero characters and Jamie baked the most delicious cookies as an after school treat! We most certainly made some new friends in Jamie and Tim and truly hope our paths cross again - we wouldn’t hesitate to host this couple again. Best of luck on the rest of your trip guys, keep in touch!
Jamie Ellis were very very lovely and brought us so nice treats and we got an original drawing from them in our guestbook, we were very happy about. They treated our house with care and left it in perfect order, many thanks for that. Hope to meet you once:)!
Gwen and Marty and their amazing children made us feel so at home during our stay! We treasured our time eating dinner with their family, playing with Jet - the most human dog I’ve ever known - and getting to know their hometown. The McCracken home is absolutely beautiful, clean and comfy and Gwen and Marty could not be more generous and welcoming when it comes to inviting you in. They were even supporting and patient when I got sick during our stay and was bed-ridden for 24 hours! THANK YOU for such a memorable trip and the kindness you showed me and Tim during our stay. Hope to see you state-side soon!
Thank you Krzysztof and Magda for making Dublin a possibility during our travels! This home is perfectly situated near restaurants, grocery stores and a lovely park. The guest room truly feels like a sleek 5-star NYC accommodation with its vogue decor and prestige cleanliness. Although the family was traveling Spain during our stay and we therefore did not spend much time together, we did have the pleasure of dog-sitting their beloved Cookie who snuggled with us and brought us on the best walks. We logged plenty of time in downtown in Dublin, just a short drive from the house. So thankful to have met you - albeit briefly - and experience your incredible home. Hope to meet again some day soon! Thanks.
Amy and Darrel’s home and family are both so wonderful and we cannot believe how lucky we were to stay with them. Although our time together was brief, we were blown away by the generous spirit of the Isherwoods. From greeting us on our first night with wine and snacks, to making thoughtful recommendations for activities, to inviting us to dine with them at home, Amy and Darrel went out of their way to make us feel part of the family. We had the BEST time with their three boys who are incredibly smart and spirited and have great questions for travelers (though I dare say Alby, Ed and Reuben are better travelled than we are already!) I so hope to see this incredible crew come to Philly soon. You’ll always have friends here! Thanks 10000X.
Thank you so much - we talk about you guys all the time and the amazing sketch that Tim did for them is on the wall in the playroom! We really hope to meet up again in the future xx
Without being dramatic, the Banki’s home is probably the nicest house I’ve ever seen, so it was an incredibly generous gesture to allow us to check ourselves in and out during our brief trip to Budapest even though they were not home. Melinda was super responsive to anything we needed despite being away on her own travels. We had an easy time getting into town using the local bus system (there is a stop just blocks from the house) and even got to enjoy the indoor spa for an evening! Budapest is simply incredible and our only regret is that we didn’t spend more time there. Still, we enjoyed some of the recommendations Melinda left and are thrilled to have an excuse to come back and do more. Hope to meet you and your kind, welcoming family some day soon! Thank you again!
Ken & Leanne were our first PLU guests, visiting in March 2023. Not only are they great guests, they’re awesome people with so many incredible stories and experiences to share. Tim and I didn’t think that guests would really want to hang with us so it was such a refreshing and pleasant surprise that Ken and Leanne took so much time to get to know us. They are absolute pros when it comes to PLU and gave great tips for us as we get started on this network. My only regret is that we didn’t clear our schedules to show them around town ourselves. Hopefully we can host you guys for a longer stay next time!

Hello PLU! We are Jamie and Tim - a fun-loving couple eager to meet new people and explore the world. We joined People Like Us two years ago, and have been amazed at the hospitality and friendship it has afforded us. We (and our fat cat Alphie) recently moved into a single family home outside of Philadelphia, in an incredible neighborhood with lots of space to host. We cannot wait to get reengaged with this amazing community of travelers and show you just how much there is to love about Philly!
